An expert in Civil matters, Advocate Mukesh Dutt Mathur believes that honesty and consistency are the two keys to become a successful lawyer.

It was Mukesh’s childhood dream to become an Advocate growing up. After completing his schooling, he enrolled in an LLB program.

Mukesh says that he started doing his practical training whilst he was still in his second year of LLB. He acknowledges the mentorship he received from his seniors. He says that his seniors trained him in such a manner that by the time he graduated, he could do his own practice independently.

Mukesh shares that from the beginning itself, he has been interested in dealing with matters falling under Civil Laws and Codes.

To aspiring lawyers, Mukesh advises that hard work is the only key to success. You should never stop working hard in this profession. Besides, you should read your curricula books thoroughly. He also adds that irrespective of what people have to say, Law as a profession is very vast and there’s a lot one can do as a lawyer, provided they are hard working. Furthermore, he advises that don’t focus on earning money in this profession. Always maintain honesty and persistence to be successful as an advocate.

Mukesh considers his paternal uncle and mentor who was also an advocate as his role model and the inspiration behind him choosing Law as his profession.

Mukesh says that he had also gotten a government job in Rajasthan Tehsildar Services. He was at a crossroads as to whether to join that job or pursue Law. His seniors guided him that Law is a vast field and there’s a lot that one can do in it. Following his seniors’ advice, he chose Law as his profession and today he is content with his decision and his life too.

Talking about Covid, Mukesh says that during the pandemic, he did social work. And utilizing his spare time, he tried to expedite solving pending matters.

Mukesh thinks that Law as a profession demands consistency in work. He says irrespective of the number of years of work experience an advocate has, they are required to work consistently in this profession.

In his spare time, Mukesh likes to listen to music and sing songs and read magazines. Besides, he is also associated with the RSS and he regularly does social service.
