Mukesh Kabra is a leading entrepreneur in Udaipur. He is the proprietor of Madhusudan Marbles, a family firm that was started by his father. He entered the business in 1991.

Mukesh enjoyed his childhood to the fullest. He did his schooling in Makrana, Rajasthan, and his graduation in Jaipur. He was an average student. After completing his education, he joined his family business.

Mukesh also tried pursuing a new business, side-tracking his family business. He set up a garment manufacturing industry and continued this business for almost one and a half years. It was only after his engagement that he was forced by his brothers to join the family business of marble. After his marriage, he shifted to Udaipur, and he, along with his brother, started trading marble from Udaipur to Makrana’s tile manufacturing units. Within four years, they became one of the leading marble traders in the area.

Madhusudan Marbles, for three consecutive years, has won excellence awards from the Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Udaipur, due to their value-added work. The value of granite and marble increases a lot after value-added designs are added and the stones are processed.

Madhusudan Marbles entered the export business in 2002. They started with a very difficult material, called the red forest. They specialized in the processing of the Red Forest marble and started exporting the material. Mukesh proudly declares that Madhusudan Marbles is considered to be in the top position in the field of exporting processed Red Forest marble. He feels that since he entered an already established family business, he and his brothers did not have to struggle a lot.

During COVID, when a large percent of his business was affected, Mukesh and his brothers were worried about the laborers working in their factory. They took proper care and provided all the necessary daily provisions to the workers. But eventually, things got easier as people started getting accustomed to the new life. And, gradually, as the lockdown was opened up, they started their factory once again, and with all-new zeal, they started working and slowly were able to clear all the backlogs.

Mukesh speaks about his achievement when he once received a huge order from China. The order was for granite slabs measuring 1.5 million square feet. It was the first time in history that China had ordered granite slabs from Rajasthan. This was achieved due to his quality, value-added services.

Mukesh idolizes his father and his maternal uncle, as he has learned a lot from them about business and how to maintain a balance between work and his personal life.

His advice for the new generation is that one should not refrain from working from ground level; hard work and proper labor should be the stepping stones of your professional life.

Listening to music is his favorite pastime.
