Mukesh is an experienced martial artist with years of experience and he is passing his knowledge down to future martial artists by teaching them the correct forms and tactics of martial arts.

Mukesh Kumar started doing martial arts in 1995. He participated in various national and international tournaments and won several medals. Now he holds more than 25 years of experience in the field of Martial Arts.

Talking about struggles in his life, Mukesh says that when he started doing martial arts he had no money to pay toward his fees but his passion to practice martial arts kept him going. He always wanted to learn self-defence techniques and be different from others. Even after working hard and doing martial arts at the international and national levels, he has still not stopped learning about martial arts. For the past three years, he has been doing his PhD in Martial Arts from abroad.

Mukesh proposes that everyone should learn martial arts as learning them helps one to grow their potential. Mukesh thinks struggles in life teach you real things. He too faced struggles in his life. He did menial tasks like sweeping, mopping the floor but never considered any task as small or big.

In 2008, Mukesh cleared the exam for combat professional forces and worked with professional forces for around one and a half years. Due to some accident, he had to leave that job and come back to normal life. Then he became the Rajasthan Chief of Global Martial Arts Academy Mumbai and started giving training in martial arts to people.

Mukesh highlights that in India people learn martial arts for fun but abroad a martial art is pursued as a subject and you have to endeavour to master it by going into the depth of it. He is a Black Belt in Taekwondo from South Korea.

In 2016, he started a free-of-cost programme to teach self-defence to girls. In a span of one and a half years, he taught self-defence to more than three hundred girls. And today some of the girls he trained are working with him full-time as instructors of self-defence.

During his free time, Mukes likes to go out in nature. He likes to visit Uttarakhand the most because of its natural landscapes.

Mukesh advises parents that if you want your children to make a career in martial arts or any sport, you need to send them to professional coaches to train under them. Besides, you should never force your children to learn one particular sport or martial art and let them explore what they are interested in. Besides, they should make their children disciplined and teach them the struggles of life as without it it’s not possible to be a true sportsperson.

Mukesh says that to shine like a sun you must first burn like a sun. He says that it requires immense hard work and dedication to win a gold medal in any sport at the international level.
