A Ranji Trophy Player and cricket coach, Mukesh lost his father at three and began his cricket journey at ten. He played at SGTB Khalsa College and later played for a club in England. He was selected for the Ranji Trophy in 2002 and also played in national level tournaments.

Cricket coach Mukesh Kumar Diwan provides personal cricket coaching to many budding cricketers.

Mukesh was raised in New Delhi. When he was only three years old, his father passed away. As she was uneducated, his mother was forced to work as a gardener. When Mukesh was 10 years old, he developed an interest in cricket. He met coach William Gosh at the Shanti Sports Cricket Academy in Vasant Kunj. William gave him a pair of spikes and also granted him free coaching.

His introduction to cricket began in an inter school competition for under nineteen. After that, he joined the National Stadium and continued to compete in national competitions. Big names like Kapil Dev, Chetan Sharma, and Sachin used to visit there. He met Gurcharan Singh and MP Singh there and was very excited.

Following his admission, Mukesh played his debut season at SGTB Khalsa College, where he set a record with nine wickets and beat Hindu college as well as notable players like Rahul Sanghvi and Murali Kartik. In 1999, he graduated from college with the most wickets. He was not able to participate in the Ranji Trophy, though. Feeling upset, he gave up cricket to hunt for work. He received a call from England to play cricket after some time. He had the opportunity to join an English club based on his performance and he spent six years performing there.

In 2002, Mukesh was chosen for the Ranji Trophy, but he eventually withdrew. In his seven DDC League games in 2002, he claimed 27 wickets. In a practice match against Rajasthan in 2005–06, he was given another chance to play and made a name for himself by taking seven wickets. Despite being regarded as India's quickest bowler at one point, he was nonetheless left off the national squad roster. Subsequently, he turned into a coach and began mentoring young cricket players.

Mukesh states that he has also served as a Ranji Trophy selector. Being satisfied with himself is, he feels, his greatest accomplishment.

"Keep searching; stay honest no matter what" is his life motto. The saying goes, "Hurdles are there to jump so keep going in life." He thinks the finest coach you have is yourself.

He claims he doesn't have any role models when asked about them. According to him, the only person who can serve as your role model is you since it all depends on how you approach it, how you think about it, and how you view it. Virendra Verma, however, is someone he looks up to and regards as his father. He is a great fan of Cris Costa and likes New Zealand batsman Chris Cairns.

Speaking about mental peace Mukesh reveals that he spent six years working in the business sector before quitting due to political issues. He then experienced a three-year depressive episode. According to him, depression is a self-inflicted illness that may be overcome psychologically by changing one's perspective.

In addition to cricket, he enjoys reading and spending time alone with himself. He has a strong conviction about karma.
