A working professional, Mrunalini is a big believer in living and embracing her life  to realise her full potential.

Mrunalini Deshmukh works as a Customer Service Associate at Amazon - an American multinational e-commerce company. She joined Amazon three years ago and has been working with it ever since.

Mrunalini was born and raised in Pune and received her school and college education in Pune itself. She did her Bachelor in Engineering. Mrunalini’s parents moved from a village to Pune city and owing to that, growing up, Mrunalini got to experience and live both village and city life.

Mrunalini started giving home tuitions while she was still in college to contribute toward her expenses. She wanted to complete her masters right after her bachelors and for that, in the final year of her degree course, she appeared in the GATE examination that is required to pursue masters in engineering in the country and she passed it. And at the same time, she also got a job at Amazon and she was in a dilemma whether to join that job or pursue her masters. She chose to do both her job and masters simultaneously. It was very challenging for her as she had to juggle her job and studies. She would attend her lectures and submit projects on weekends but nonetheless, she passed her masters with distinction. She also paid for her masters with her own money.

Mrunalini feels really proud to be able to fund her own expenses and sustain herself on her own. She believes that when a woman is financially independent, it keeps her at peace both mentally and emotionally.

Mrunalini has no regrets in life whatsoever and would not want to mend any of her mistakes. Though, she feels that it would have been better had she switched her job to another organisation. She advises people to not get comfortable with their jobs and keep looking for more challenging roles within or outside their current organisations.

Mrunalini shares that markets are very volatile and so are the jobs and skills in demand. So instead of following a trend or doing a course which you think will have better scope than others, you should follow your interests and pursue a course or field that interests you the most.

Mrunalini considers her mother as her role model, who juggled her roles as a mother and working woman efficiently and raised her well. And this is what inspires her about her mother. Besides, she also takes inspiration from her English literature teacher at her school.

If she could go back in time then Mrunalini would want to change the time when she doubted her own abilities and just be herself. Besides, she would want to relive her school days when she was a studious and mischievous kid at the same time and always gave her one hundred percent to whatever she did whether it was her studies or extracurricular activities.

In her free time, Mrunalini likes to read books. She believes that reading books takes her to a different world altogether. She also likes to write, draw, paint and travel.

Mrunalini thinks that no matter how passionate and talented you’re, things will not fall into place for you if you’re not consistent and persevering in your endeavours and efforts.

Mrunalini stresses that not feeling mentally well is all right. And you should never feel sceptical about reaching out to a professional psychiatrist who can help you.

Mrunalini advises the youth to not just go through their life but live it and embrace it and realise their potential to the fullest.
