Working as a Ward Attendant in hospitals, Monu has helped patients perform routine tasks and has assisted the hospital staff in taking care of important duties like keeping rooms tidy, giving food and medicines on time while keeping an eye on a patient’s health throughout their stay.

Monu Kumawat belongs to Udaipur. He has been working in the medical field for seventeen years. He worked at Kalpana Nursing Home for twelve years and is currently working in GBH American Hospital as a Ward Boy.

Monu studied till eighth standard and after that he joined Kalpana Nursing Home and used to assist in OT as well as handle general outside work. Thereafter, he joined Astha Orthopedic in Ahmedabad and along with OT he also assisted in knee replacement, joint and spine related surgeries. There he worked for three years and in 2019 he joined GBH as BSA Ward Boy.

Monu says he is responsible to take care of the patients, giving them medicines on time and if a patient has any problem then it is his duty to inform the staff or the person in charge. He feels content because the staff and doctors are very supportive and cooperative to him.

During the Corona Period, Monu worked hard and he was closely associated with the patients in taking due care of them and by providing them with all possible facilities. He says he always worked with a free mind and without fear of getting infected by the CoronaVirus even when vaccines were not introduced.

Monu guides the new ward boys and makes them understand anything they get stuck at. Also, he explains to them the process about how to do a particular task and taking care of the patients. He checks on them whether they are doing their job well or not, if not, then he re-explains the whole process or else he shows by doing it himself.

Monu says that whatever work he does, he does it all from experience only. He believes that education is only important to get a degree but experience matters more because when you work practically, you definitely go ahead and succeed in your career.

Monu’s daily routine starts early in the morning because he owns a tea stall too. He also helps his mother in preparing spices, opens his tea stall and after arranging all the necessary items for his mother, he leaves for the job. Coming back in the evening he manages the stall till its closing.

Monu advises that whatever work you do, whether you are studying or are in a job, do not take any stress while doing so. The more stress free you work, you will keep moving forward in life.  He says you should not be jealous of anyone and don’t fear contemplation. He wants us to always be respectful to our parents and everyone around us, elder or younger, to achieve everything in life.
