Monika studied English literature and later took the plunge to pursue her childhood hobby, which was agriculture and farming. Her love for nature and the environment is never-ending.

Monika Shivaji Mohite is the founder of an agro-tech company. She has been learning and experimenting with organic farming since 2008.

She was born and brought up in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, and later shifted to Kolhapur, Maharashtra, upon getting married.

Recalling her childhood, Monika shares that she grew up in a clean environment surrounded by mango and guava trees, so her love for nature began at an early stage. She did her primary schooling at Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, followed by her college education at KRG College. Monika completed her MA in English Literature from Jiwaji University and later chose to pursue her childhood hobby as a profession.

Monika reveals that her son's interest in pursuing car racing as a sport gave birth to her career in farming. Elaborating further, she shares that once her seven-year-old son entered the field of sports, she was advised by people to give him supplements and protein bars for improved stamina. This was when Monika thought there could not be any better option than feeding his son organic food freshly grown at the farms.

This sparked an interest in Monika, and she started studying Vedic agriculture while connecting with farmers in her area. However, she admits that the only mistake she committed was not exploring the market for organic farming properly before stepping into it. Realising this, Monika started a small cottage industry at her farm to process and self-market her products.

Speaking about her achievements, Monika says that being a mother and being able to provide nutritious food to her children have been her personal achievements. However, on the professional front, Monika is happy to have processed food items in innovative ways and to have launched a special product called cow dung dhoop sticks. She feels extremely satisfied to have helped the farmers and to have generated employment for the lower rung of society.

When asked about her role models, Monika says that she draws inspiration from every farmer she gets in touch with. She has admired Madhavrao Scindia since her childhood, who has shown her the way forward. Monika is grateful to her family members, who have given her unconditional support.

For people willing to pursue organic farming, Monika suggests they self-study and delve deeper into vedic agriculture. She suggests the youth not to run after money and quotes, "When you start doing the right work, the money will run after you."

Her hobbies include reading about agriculture, especially Vedic agriculture. Monika also participates in annual pilgrimages, which gives her motivation to keep moving forward.
