Monika Jurani is a Makeup Artist who has been in this profession for the past eight years.

She was born and brought up in Udaipur. Since her childhood, she was mostly inclined towards the creative field like Fashion and Interior Designing. Monika completed her undergraduate in Commerce and then went ahead to do her MBA in Human Resources.

After working in corporate companies for two years, Monika realised that it is not her true calling and she decided to follow her passion in the creativity field. She then started off her professional journey as a Hairstylist and then switched to doing Makeup as well. Monika has not taken any professional courses or certifications, she applies her artistic abilities through her experience and experiments.

Talking about the challenges she has faced, Monika says that when she did her first makeup, she was quite anxious and conscious as to how it would turn out to be. Fortunately, her first experience was quite positive and her client was happy with the outcome. After this, there was no looking back for Monika and she started exploring different products and working upon her existing skills. Since Monika conceived during that time, she could not go for training sessions and had to source all products online. Her confidence and faith within herself, made her launch her makeup studio ‘Bride To Be Makeovers’ , a new venture well supported by her family members.

Talking about her mistakes, Monika shares that since she kickstarted her hair and makeup journey with half the knowledge, she encountered an instance where she wasn’t able to do a client’s hair as per her expectations. That scenario made her practice, experiment and try her hands on new hairstyles as per the market trend.

Monika’s Success Mantra lies in her satisfactory clients who appreciate her work. She also equalises success with earning good money with your hard work and creating an identity of your own.

Monika suggests budding makeup artists and hairstylists to never stop learning and constantly upgrade themselves. She adds one should exhibit good behaviour with their clients and understand their preferences and requirements.
