Mohit listened to his heart and gathered the courage to pursue Anchoring as his profession and feels good and happy about it today.

Mohit Rathore is a Freelancer Anchor and is currently based in Indore.

His journey started in his 9th standard doing Extempore and Speech competitions which inclined him towards the field of Anchoring. Since he belongs to a small town, it was initially a difficult affair for Mohit to get his profession accepted in the eyes of society. But following his passion, Mohit has done various shows to date and continues to progress in his professional journey.

After completing his basic education from a government school, Mohit went ahead to pursue his Bachelors in Pharmacy. While pursuing his graduation, Mohit used to host many college events and also received appreciation from his professors. Gradually, people started noticing him and he started getting clients. After completing his B.Pharma, Mohit auditioned at Doordarshan and luckily got his first break on National TV for the show ‘Krishi Darshan.’

Talking about his challenging times, Mohit shares that he had stage fear like many others, but his father motivated and encouraged him to participate in competitions to get over it. He urges people to overcome their stage fear by facing the audience and not overthinking about the event. Mohit created a social media page to make people aware of his profession. When he initially started, he got low budget events.

Sharing his mistakes, Mohit says that he did many events but didn’t keep their proper record and did not do digital marketing of his art. He feels had he marketed himself properly from the beginning, then he would have been in a much better position today.

Mohit admires Anchor Manish Paul of Dance India Dance for his entertainment style.

Talking about the pandemic, Mohit says that Covid affected businesses and many have recovered with time. However, he feels that the Events industry has not yet gotten back on track. Mohit says that with the advent of digitalization, now anyone can showcase their talent to the world sitting anywhere.

Mohit feels that till the time one is not educated, one cannot gain experience. He feels that one should first focus on completing education and alongside gain experience to be a professional.

For aspiring anchors, Mohit says that one can consider coming into this field, but should know that the profession of an artist is unstable with no fixed source of income. So he urges everyone to have enough savings and personal finance before pursuing it. He adds that one should also know to market themselves digitally and always have a Plan B.
