Never settle for less; always aim higher and achieve your goals.
Mohammad Akbar is the Co-Founder of Ayush Remedies, an endeavor that encapsulates India's rich tradition in holistic wellness. Their international brand, NaturoGain, promotes overall health.
Embarking on this entrepreneurial journey wasn't an easy decision for Akbar, who originally hailed from a service-class family. Having worked in the corporate sector in Bangalore and other metropolises, he sensed a yearning to do something greater. With his technical background, he tried to venture into multiple sectors like IT and travel, but destiny called him to the realm of Ayurveda, a space where he could not only thrive in business but also contribute to the well-being of others.
In the nascent stages of their venture, online platforms were still new to everyone. Undeterred, they persisted, laying the foundation for what is now a thriving enterprise boasting a diverse catalog of 60-70 Ayurvedic and herbal products, offering relief for countless ailments.
Hailing from Banaras, Akbar's educational journey started from the Purvanchal University, where he earned a BTech in Computer Science. Furthering his knowledge, he pursued a PGDM and MBA in IT and Marketing. Subsequently he began working in the corporate sector in Bangalore and Mumbai as an ERP consultant.
A pivotal moment in his life came when his father handed him a book on Swami Vivekananda. The profound impact of Vivekananda's teachings led Akbar to devour every book about the preacher available in the library, shaping his perspective and altering the course of his life.
"Life is a challenge, accept it," and "If opportunity doesn’t come, build a door", these mantras fuel Akbar's drive and fill him with motivation.
Recounting his challenges, Akbar says that the hurdles on this path were many. When Akbar expressed his entrepreneurial aspirations to his father, his father only gave his tacit approval reluctantly. With limited knowledge about initiating a business, Akbar and his team delved into extensive research, even finding a CA for their online-centric model became difficult.
For Akbar, the triumph lies in establishing a business that not only resonates with consumers but also aligns with his vision of providing holistic and natural solutions. Today, offering health products at the click of a button is a testament to his success.
Akbar advises aspiring Ayurvedic enthusiasts to pursue a BAMS, emphasizing the importance of understanding people's problems and providing solutions, a lesson learned through firsthand experience.
In his opinion, education forms the bedrock of personal growth, and life itself serves as a rich tapestry of experiences. Akbar advocates for a continuous learning mindset, urging everyone to keep moving forward.
Even if a time machine is given to him to travel to the past, Akbar would decline the offer, choosing to live life as it is.
To the youth of India, Akbar's message is to never settle for less, dream big, and tirelessly strive to turn those dreams into reality through unwavering dedication and effort.
