A musician, Mohak is providing online classes to music enthusiasts who can’t spare time according to the time schedule of his music schools’ offline classes.

Mohak Shamani is a musician and the founder of "SSymphony Music Company" in Pune.

Describing his journey, Mohak says he was in the fourth grade when he started learning music. He remembers that when he used to sing in the school choir, his teacher used to play the piano, and he liked the sound of that instrument very much. Initially, he started learning the keyboard from Asmita Shah, and then his interest developed in the piano, which he learned to play from Sonam Lodhi. Simultaneously, he also appeared for the exams at Trinity College of Music.

During his journey, he learnt various genres of music, especially western classical music. He used to play in front of guests coming to his home. They used to appreciate him a lot. Many of them encouraged him to give piano lessons to others. Mohak finally discovered his passion for teaching and joined Mad Over Music Academy as a faculty for the Keyboard in addition to teaching privately at his own music school. In 2019, he founded his music school, named "SSymphony School of Music."

Remembering his childhood, Mohak says he spent his childhood living in a joint family. His parents wanted him to do well in his studies, and simultaneously, they made him learn several other things like dance, skating, and music. Gradually, he got more inclined toward extracurricular activities and became more creative. His parents always supported him in following his interests. He rejoices in saying that  he used to spend quality time with his parents during vacations despite their busy schedules.

Mohak says that in 2019, when he went to Goa for the first time to attend a workshop on entrepreneurship, it helped him connect with people. During 2020, he came across his mentor, Saurabh Bhatnagar. Saurabh, who himself is an entrepreneur and a finance guru, helps individuals and businesses scale their revenue using online marketing. Mohak says when everybody was going through the rough COVID period, he switched from offline classes to online classes smoothly just because of his mentor's guidance on online business.

Speaking about his challenges, Mohak says that among his students, many of them are working professionals who couldn't find time to attend his classes as per the schedule. So, he came up with the idea to develop an app, “MnM- Music and More”, where anyone could watch the lessons as per their convenience. He edited his class videos for months, and when he was done with all his videos; he got confused about how to launch them. There he says his mentor, Saurabh Bhatnagar's advice, helped him a lot, and he successfully launched his app. He now has six members on his team, as the number of his students has been growing.

Mohak’s life mantra is - "Keep evolving yourself". He believes evolving consistently is a crucial part of development and the path to success.

Mohak has a piece of advice for the young generation who want to pursue a career in music that one should explore the music field first to understand their inner calling. He says the next step would be to choose your genre and find the right mentor who could show you the right path. He also suggests that everyone attend music concerts to gain a better understanding of their favorite genre.
