Mahendra Kumar Sharma worked in the Bhartiya Khel Pradhikaran for thirty years and through it was posted at B.N. School, Udaipur as a Basketball Coach.
He says his first-ever batch had two students out of which one of them became an international player and is currently working in the Railways, posted in Udaipur.
MK Sharma belongs to Jodhpur and completed his schooling in the city. He completed his Master’s degree and later joined Railways after working in a couple of schools. He worked in the Railways for three years before resigning and becoming a Coach. Then, he did a two years Master’s degree from NSNIS, Patiala. He did research as part of his degree to explore the problems of Indian National Teams against other national teams. Lastly, he got posted at the Noble International School in Udaipur.
MK Sharma’s coach during his training days is his Role Model. He says he had supportive seniors and mentors that helped him in his career.
MK Sharma shares that his team in Kota was a strong one and he is proud to be their coach. He took M.P.ED classes in MLSU in Udaipur and went to Jaisalmer to train some students on a contract basis. He then came back to Udaipur and joined a private academy. He has produced many successful sportspeople from his academy.
During Covid, MK Sharma trained students online due to which all his students were fit and no one contracted the virus.
MK Sharma advises all the students and their parents to make sports activities part of life. Having a healthy meal that strengthens the body and increases the height of growing kids is crucial. Moreover, he believes, that prioritising sports as equally as academics is important for the overall development of a student.
MK Sharma believes that hard work is crucial for success. He advises the students to put their hundred per cent effort in whatever they chose to do.
