A software engineer turned childbirth educator, Mitushi is helping mothers rejoice in safe and healthy motherhood.

Mitushi Makwana is a childbirth educator at Rita's Pregnancy 101. She has been working in the field since 2018. She  lives in Vadodara, Gujarat.

Recalling her childhood, Mitushi shares that she was born into an upper middle class family and has experienced a smooth journey so far.

Sharing a glimpse of her motherhood experience, Mitushi says that when she conceived her first child, she was always on the lookout for some advice and facility about prenatal and postnatal exercises. But she couldn't find any such facility in Vadodara. Since it was her first pregnancy, says Mitushi, she had no idea about the labour and delivery process. The incident sparked her interest and her willingness to help mothers experience safe motherhood.

Describing her struggles, Mitushi says that switching from software engineering to the pregnancy and maternity field was a tough call for her. She goes on to mention that when she started her classes for pregnant women, no one would show up. But Mitushi kept her patience and soon started to see the fruit of her efforts.

When asked about her mistakes, Mitushi shares that not taking her career too seriously and being lazy about it have been some of the mistakes she has made. However, over time, she learned from her experiences and overcame her weaknesses.

Talking about her role models, Mitushi says that professionally she draws inspiration from the founder of Rita’s Pregnancy 101. However, on the personal front, she is inspired by her parents and her husband, who has been her biggest support.

Mitushi advises everyone to go with their instincts to succeed in life. She adds that they should have clear goals and believe in themselves. When advising child educators, Mitushi suggests they stay updated with the latest technology and be learners for life.

Mitushi is fond of travelling and wishes to create travel blogs. She also enjoys reading books.

Her mantra is starting her day early, which keeps her energetic throughout the day.
