Megha Joshi, an MA in Economics, was initially unaware of her passion for astrology. Her grandparents, who were experts in astrology, taught her about planets and planetary motion at home. Despite her initial curiosity, Megha has since become an established astrologer in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Joshi's grandparents' expertise in astrology sparked her interest in the field.
After her marriage, Megha pursued her bachelor’s and Ph.D. in astrology. She is also a gold medalist at her bachelor’s level. She has been practicing astrology since 2002 and providing solutions to her clients' problems.
Talking about the challenges she faced in her career as an astrologer, Megha says that astrology is a male-dominated field. Being a woman, and starting at the young age of twenty-two, was quite challenging for her. Initially, she faced difficulties in gaining acceptance and trust from people as an astrologer. But she never gave up, and slowly and steadily, she established herself as a reputable astrologer in Ajmer and nearby cities.
Speaking about her achievements, Megha says that she feels proud of the fact that she has been able to help so many people find solutions to their problems through her knowledge and expertise in astrology. Apart from this, she is a gold medalist in her field and has received numerous awards for her outstanding contributions.
According to Megha, astrology is a vast field. There is no limit to what one can learn in this field. She herself continues to learn about astrology, as she feels that she has barely scratched the surface in this field.
Megha shares that people often ask her if she already knows about the ongoing pandemic and how it will impact the world. In response to that, Megha says that nobody could predict this pandemic as everything is under the control of God and the world runs as per His will. So this pandemic is God's way of teaching us a lesson.
Megha considers her grandfather as her role model, who was a great astrologer and principal of Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya in Indore. She received her first astrology lesson from her grandfather himself. He was a renowned astrologer and taught her the basics of reading birth charts and predicting future events. Megha cherishes those moments spent with her grandfather and credits him with sparking her interest in astrology.
Megha advises that we should choose our profession as per our interests. If we choose what we love to do, we will never have to force ourselves to work. She herself likes her profession so much that she can work the whole day. She believes that when we are passionate about our work, it doesn't feel like a burden, and we are more likely to excel in our chosen field. Megha's dedication and love for astrology have allowed her to continuously learn and grow in her profession, making her a trusted and sought-after astrologer in her community.
Talking about leadership, Megha says that your upbringing plays a crucial role in imbibing leader-like qualities in you. Besides, the positioning of planets in your horoscope also plays a determining role in shaping you as a leader. She herself used to lead in almost every extracurricular activity, including the academics at her school and college. She used to be the president of her college and participate in district-level debate competitions.
Megha believes that for a person to be successful, they should have both education and experience. And without experience, one’s knowledge is incomplete. She says that even in the Bhagavad Gita, Shri Krishna says that gaining knowledge and education is a must from a guru. One must give their best effort to gain both knowledge and experience.
Megha considers the Bhagavad Gita to be her formula for success. She adds that Gita is not religion-specific, and we all should read it once in our lifetime. She herself finds answers to her queries and urges everyone to read the holy book to enlighten themselves.
For aspirants who want to make a career in astrology, Megha advises that, first and foremost, self-purification is paramount. Besides, one should also be patient and stable to work in this field. She also advises the aspirants to be good listeners and firm believers in their entity. As it will require dealing with people's personal beliefs and emotions, empathy and understanding Additionally, Megha suggests continuously expanding one's knowledge in astrology through research and learning from experienced practitioners to enhance their skills and credibility in the field.
Megha has no regrets as such in her life. But if she could go back in time and undo something, she would want to prepare for the civil service examination, which she could not.
For everyone, Megha suggests reading the third chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, which discusses selfless service and the importance of fulfilling one's duties without attachment to the results. She also advises people to remain honest and diligent towards their work but never get into the attachment or desire for the results. Follow the Bhagavad Gita and “Karma Yoga” and work diligently without any desire. Megha believes that by following this philosophy, one can find true contentment and peace in life, regardless of the outcomes.
