Driven by her passion, Meenakshi is moving ahead and focusing on empowering the youth.

Meenakshi Joshi has been a hostel warden and a basketball coach at Central Public School, Udaipur for seventeen years.

Meenakshi was born in a village in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan. She completed her senior secondary education in Nagaur itself. She says she had been a good basketball player since fifth grade. She claims she was the first National Women's basketball player in India.

Talking about her dedication and sincerity towards sports, Meenakshi says that she used to reach her playground thirty minutes before to get herself ready for the coaching. She always obeyed her Guru who understood her potential for games and motivated her to play basketball. She played at the district level, state level and national level.

When asked about role models in her life, Meenakshi says that she considers her father and her younger sister as her role models. She is also inspired by Alka Madam and Anil Sir, the directors of CPS, and other staff members from whom she has learned a lot, says Meenakshi.

When free, Meenakshi likes to play basketball very enthusiastically. Besides this, she also likes to do gardening, photography, go for a long drive, climb mountains or hills and do shopping in her spare time.

If a Time Machine is given to her, Meenakshi would like to go back in time and replay her basketball tournament which she lost by only two points to enter the international level.

To the aspirants to the sports field, Meenakshi says that they should be dedicated and punctual.

She also advises that they should keep faith in their gurus and give priority to their work.

Advising the youth, Meenakshi says that they should follow the advice of their elders and keep doing yoga, sports and meditation from their teenage years itself.
