Meenakshi Audichya is a Senior Manager in the HDFC Bank.
Meenakshi Audichya hails from Udaipur. She did her schooling from various schools as her father was in a transferable job and had to move around a lot. Eventually, her family shifted to Udaipur and she pursued her graduation and PG from there itself.
After completing her education, Meenakshi started working in a bank and has accumulated experience of about fifteen years in the banking sector since.
Meenakshi’s journey was not an easy one, as she says that she had to face gender stereotypes while choosing a career. She goes on to say that she got married early on in life, so juggling a job and kids together proved to be quite challenging for her. She also had a difficult time when she was transferred to another city for about a year. However, as she climbed the professional ladder, she started getting recognition and respect in society as well as in her family.
Meenakshi is of the opinion that both education and experience are important in life, as education provides the launchpad for you to pursue a career and experience keeps the growth trajectory in that career intact.
Advising the people who aspire to make a career in banking, Meenakshi says that you should start working towards it early on in life. She further says that the banking industry today is highly dynamic and demands one to be up-to-date with it.
According to Meenakshi, leadership is a quality which is present in everyone. She says that it is hidden inside us and we just have to find it through experience.
Talking about role models, Meenakshi says that popular mountain climber Arunima Sinha is her role model. She says that Arunima’s fortitude in the face of ordeals and her unbreakable spirit inspires her.
Along with her professional life, Meenakshi also engages in social work and is associated with an NGO called Leprosy Mission of India. She also regularly visits various orphanages.
When it comes to achievements in life, Meenakshi says that while she has had numerous achievements in life, her biggest one is being a good mother, a good daughter, and a good wife.
Recalling her childhood, Meenakshi says that it was very delightful and she still cherishes the memories of her childhood. She especially recalls her grandmother’s unconditional love for her.
Given a chance to go back to the past and change something, Meenakshi would like to work harder to join the defence services and become an Air Force Pilot which was her first career choice.
Meenakshi thinks that although it was a devastating experience for everyone, the COVID pandemic brought out the good in the people. She says that people became more affectionate towards each other and also got to spend quality time with their families.
