Mayank Wadhwani is a seasoned Stand-up Comedian and Anchor with over 11 years of experience performing on stage. His charismatic presence and comedic talent have made him a standout entertainer in the industry.

Mayank Wadhwani has been pursuing stand-up comedy in Udaipur since 2018, establishing himself as a Hindi comic known for his storytelling and anecdotes. His unique style revolves around sharing relatable stories and humorous incidents, which never fail to leave the audience in splits.

Comedian Mayank began his journey with open mics in 2018 and takes immense pride in being the only comic from Udaipur to have performed at 'Habitat,' India's most renowned comedy club. Beyond performing, Mayank also manages and opens shows for prominent comedians visiting Udaipur, showcasing his dedication to nurturing the comedy scene in his city. His goal is simple yet heartfelt: to bring joy and laughter to everyone he performs for.

When it comes to anchoring, Mayank Wadhwani has a rich background that includes his time at Radio Mirchi, where he worked as an ad checker and content writer. Beyond this, he has honed his skills through extensive writing projects and experience in theatre, further enriching his ability to connect with audiences and deliver engaging performances.

Stand-up artist Mayank Wadhwani reflects on his diverse achievements in the entertainment industry, starting with his appearance in the popular serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah during his college days, where he featured in an episode. He also made appearances in several movies, taking on small roles as a junior artist, including Ferrari Ki Sawaari and Ship of Theseus. Additionally, Mayank interned in the post-production of Ship of Theseus and was involved in the pre-production of Tumbbad. His experience extends to working at Radio Mirchi as well.

In terms of recent accomplishments, Mayank managed the biggest stand-up comedy show in Udaipur for Anubhav Singh Bassi. Furthermore, he had the opportunity to open for the renowned comedian Gaurav Gupta when he performed in Udaipur, an experience he considers a significant milestone in his comedy career.

Talking about his inspiration in the field of art, Mayank Wadhwani credits his grandfather and mother as his greatest influences. As a child, his grandfather would narrate bedtime stories to him every night, embodying the characters with vivid expressions and mimicking sounds, such as a lion's roar, to bring the tales to life. On the other hand, his mother, a professional singer and sitar player, inspired him with her artistry and dedication to her craft.

Anchor Mayank shares that this unique combination of influences shaped his journey in the world of art—his grandfather instilled in him the power of storytelling, while his mother gave him the confidence to express himself. Together, they laid the foundation for his creative path, which he continues to follow passionately today.

Reflecting on his early years, Mayank Wadhwani shares that he was born and raised in Udaipur, where he completed his schooling at St. Paul’s Senior Secondary School. He humorously recalls that spending time with 3,000 boys in the same school naturally built a strong foundation for his comedic instincts.

For his higher education, Wadhwani attended Hinduja College in Mumbai, where he pursued a degree in Mass Communication. Alongside his studies, he was actively involved in theatre and participated in numerous street plays, both in Mumbai and Udaipur. These experiences not only enhanced his performance skills but also deepened his connection to the art of storytelling and acting.

Talking about role models, Mayank Wadhwani says he finds immense inspiration in the life and journey of MS Dhoni. He admires Dhoni’s perseverance and resilience, especially the way he overcame numerous challenges early in his career. Mayank reflects on Dhoni’s story, noting that despite entering professional cricket later than many of his peers, Dhoni went on to achieve incredible success. To Mayank, Dhoni’s accomplishments represent unparalleled inspiration. He also appreciates Dhoni’s calm and composed mindset, adopting a similar approach in his own work by staying focused and avoiding unnecessary stress or tension.

In the field of art, Mayank Wadhwani looks up to Shah Rukh Khan as a role model. He is deeply inspired by Khan’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming the globally renowned “King Khan.” For Mayank, Shah Rukh’s story is a testament to the power of dreaming big and working relentlessly to achieve those dreams.

Stage Anchor Mayank Wadhwani shares that a line from his grandfather has always inspired him: “Kis-kis ko yaad rakhein, kis-kis ko royen, aaraam badi cheez hai toh muh dhak kar soyen.” The essence of this line is about not overburdening oneself with worries or trying to impress others. Instead, it encourages focusing on what truly matters, finding peace, and living life on your own terms, without the need to please everyone around you. This philosophy has deeply shaped his approach to life and work.

To aspiring comedians, Mayank Wadhwani offers valuable advice, encouraging them to participate in as many open mics as possible, despite the limited opportunities in Udaipur. He shares his own initiative, The Comedy Project, where he organizes dedicated open mics specifically for comedy, offering a platform for performers to practice their scripts. According to Mayank, comedy is often misunderstood as just telling jokes, but it is a responsive art form. He emphasizes that a comedian’s success depends on the audience's reaction. “Until I get a laugh from the audience, I won’t know whether to continue with the joke or not,” he explains.

He also advises aspiring artists to embrace the stage as much as possible, as live performance is the true test of one’s skill. “The audience will tell you whether you've succeeded or failed,” he says. Additionally, he recommends reading, writing, and sharing your stories with friends to gain valuable feedback and discover more about your own talents.

In his final message, Mayank Wadhwani shares a powerful reflection on the importance of perseverance and self-belief. He recalls how, in 2014, he left Mumbai because he felt he wasn’t ready for the opportunities that  Mumbai offered. He compares his journey to the famous song from the movie Udaan with the line, “Kahani khatam hai ya shuruaat hone ko hai,” reminding everyone that when it feels like the story is ending, it’s actually a new beginning. He urges people to make the most of where they are and create their own success.

Anchor-Comedian Mayank proudly shares that he is Udaipur’s highest-paid stand-up comic, highlighting that art should never be given away for free. “Art is expensive,” he says, emphasizing that it requires time, effort, and travel. He advises aspiring artists to value their own work first, as only then will others appreciate it too.

He concludes his #MeriKahani with his own lines: “You are never over, you are God’s greatest creation under construction,” and encourages everyone to love their country, their field, and their passion deeply. “Be the change you want to see in the world,” he says, leaving a lasting impression of determination and optimism.
