Being from a small town didn’t stop Mayank Mishra from achieving the highest level of education and starting an entrepreneurship journey.

Mayank Mishra is the Co-Founder of www.poppins.me, a productivity app on Slack.

Mayank was born and raised in Unnao in Uttar Pradesh. He completed his studies until the tenth standard in Unnao. Then, Mayank moved to Kanpur to complete further schooling. He used to travel daily for school and meet new people and gather new experiences.

Initially, Mayank was interested in becoming a CA but one of his seniors in school introduced him to NIFT and design courses. It was something exciting and unusual for Mayank and he explored more. He discovered NID and was fascinated by its creative programs. He got admission into the Vijayawada campus of NID which was newly built.

Studying at NID - Vijayawada gave him immense experiences in life. Experiencing a new culture, a new language, and a new state was challenging but Mayank learned a lot. After his graduation, he started looking for jobs via networking and training sessions. However, soon after he graduated Covid struck the nation and most of his plans got shattered.

But Mayank believes that in every problem, there is an opportunity. He got the chance to work with people, and talk to them remotely. It opened his way of thinking and he started reading books on entrepreneurship. During these times, he networked with big business owners via video calls and developed his business strategy with his partner.

Talking about his role models, Mayank says his family, teachers, and mentors at NID have been a constant source of inspiration, support, and motivation for him in his entrepreneurial journey. Moreover, successful Indian CEOs like Girish Mathur, who is humble and polite also inspire him.

Mayank believes that one should be curious, creative, think uniquely, and strive to create a positive impact on society.

Mayank encourages the youth to keep doing things to add value.

During his free time, Mayank listens to instrumental music or does yoga to calm his mind. Moreover, he loves cooking.
