As a restaurant owner, Maurelio enjoys cooking and exploring new dishes. He and his wife together run a restaurant named ‘The Arty Vegan Cafe’ in Pushkar.

Maurelio Torchia is an Italian with a French accent.

He was born in Italy and grew up in Geneva. He met his business partner, Veena in Pushkar, and they moved to London. They established two shops in London that primarily sell soy milk, tofu, and vegan cheese.

Recalling his early days, Maurelio says that he completed his studies at Geneva, after which he went to Australia to learn about establishing a restaurant business. After getting married, both Maurelio and Veena opened their restaurants in the south-east of England.

Sharing his pandemic experience, Maurelio says that he had to shut down his business and decided to come to Pushkar, the place where he met Veena forty years ago.

When asked about his role models, Maurelio says he considers his wife, Veena, his inspiration.

Maurelio believes that one should take life as it comes and learn from their experiences.
