Marisha, a gold medalist, feels that it is important to practise art regularly in order to learn it perfectly and to achieve success in it. Music and Tourism are her passions and professions.

Marisha Dixit is a musician and a tour operator in Udaipur.

Marisha hails from Udaipur. She completed her graduation and postgraduate studies in Music. She also took some other courses, like video editing. She also completed a tourism course from Thomas Cook in Delhi. Currently, she is working as a freelance musician, and her band name is ‘Music and Melodies’. Apart from this, she is also working in the field of tourism as a tour operator at ‘Travel With Chinmay’.

Marisha shares that she comes from a musical family background. When she was fourteen years old, she started her classical music training under the guidance of her guru, Ustad Faiyaz Khan Mansuri. Vocal music is her priority, and Sitar has also been her subject. Her favourite genre is semi-classical.

Sharing her achievements, Marisha says that in the field of music, her biggest accomplishment was getting the ‘Surilo Rajasthan Award’ in 2017. She also won the ‘Udaipur Singing Idol’ award. She was recognised by a gold medal from MLSU, Udaipur in 2020, which was a proud moment for her. She also won ‘Radio City Super Singer season 14’ and received a cash prize along with a trophy from Kailash Kher.

Marisha’s role model is Asha Bhosle, as she is a versatile singer who has sung in every genre. The qualities of Asha Bhosle inspire her a lot.

Advising aspirants to her field, Marisha says that music should be inside your soul. She says a born musician can become a singer. One should connect with music and be a good listener. Practice is the essential factor in this field. She feels that it is very important to learn classical singing to lay the foundation, and then one can move towards performances.

If given a time machine to travel in time, Marisha would go back and take admission to Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, to build her career in music.

Marisha advises the youth to follow their passion with full dedication and energy, and they will achieve success one day.
