Mansi says that according to their rules, the ideal age range for classical dance styles is 8 years old and beyond, while the ideal age range for belly dance is 16 years old.
When asked about her role models, Mansi responds by saying that her master Kumudini Lakhia is her role model because she is inspired by her flawless dancing. Mansi’s goal is to emulate her guru. She adds that she draws inspiration from a wide range of mentors who helped her along the way in her dancing career. She finds motivation in the individuals who value her dancing and her art form.
Mansi takes inspiration from a quote which is “Do what you love, love what you do.”
Recalling her early years, Mansi states that she was raised in Ahmedabad and graduated from Gujarat University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She pursued an M.Phil. in Performing Arts at Gujarat University after earning a Master's Degree in Kathak from Upasana School of Performing Arts. Dance is her first love, and management is her second.
Speaking about her struggles, Mansi states that at first, she found it difficult to select a career because her father wanted her to become an IAS officer. She had also tried for it, but eventually, she chose to pursue a career in dancing. She tested herself as a dancer and a dance instructor for a year, but the question was whether she could continue doing it for the rest of her life. In the end, she chose to pursue a master's degree in Kathak dance. Despite facing challenges, making a difficult decision, she continued to learn from her dancing every day.
Mansi says it is a great accomplishment for her to have learned from her teacher, Kumudini Lakhia. She also collaborates on public and private initiatives and is commended by individuals and groups. Another accomplishment for her is inspiring others with her dancing and making them smile.
Advising dance aspirants, Mansi says the first thing you need is patience. She suggests that if you know that you have skills and talent then you must pursue this career and never fall for any shortcut to success. Moreover, she says to never stop learning and training yourself as it is a continuous process. Being a teacher it is important to update yourself everyday.
Mansi also counsels people to continue working for the growth of our nation and to have faith in nature. She believes, for our nation to prosper, its culture must also be preserved. Just trust nature and develop culture in order to grow our country.
