Manjo Dixit is the founder of the NGO named SUDHAR which is headquartered in Jaipur.
Manoj hails from a village named Maloni in Bharatpur. He completed his schooling in his village itself.
Manoj says that on his way to college, he would see a community of people that would inhabit the roadside. And looking at their struggles, and the way they would earn their livelihood would make him feel distraught. That’s when he decided to create a platform to help such people in ways he could.
Manoj owned a shop where he did computer-aided work. He says people from NGOs would come to his shop for their NGO-related work. And looking at how those people worked, inspired him to do something on a similar line.
In 2000, he teamed up with his brother, who was already working for an NGO, and founded SUDHAR - Society for Unique Development and Human Action Research. Later, he also formed around three hundred SHGs of women in Dholpur to get loans from banks sanctioned to women in need. After a few years of founding the NGO, the NGO also started getting funds from the government when it was seen that the NGO was doing noteworthy work, Manoj says.
Manoj shares that initially his father made him join a government job, but later he had to quit it as he didn’t quite like the way the public sector worked. Then he joined another job in Delhi, but his mind was always absorbed in how he could help economically backward people and bring them into the mainstream. And this drove him to start his NGO.
Talking about his struggles, Manoj says that NGOs have to face many struggles with regard to adhering to government norms and fulfilling government obligations. He says that rules and regulations for NGOs should be eased out so that they can function smoothly.
Talking about his achievements, Manoj says that he has been able to achieve the goals that he set for his NGO by doing their tasks at both national and state levels, and that is an achievement for him.
Talking about leadership, Manoj says that one must feel from within to become a leader. And once they have decided to become a leader they should keep moving ahead by helping and working for others.
Manoj thinks that both education and experience are important in life. He says that experience helps one to grow in life and accomplish their goals.
Manoj is of the opinion that digitalization helps in doing things at scale and it should be introduced into every sector.
