Manohar Teli, Entered Acting Out of Choice and Has Played a Variety of Interesting Characters Throughout His Career

Manohar overcame challenges to become a successful actor. Over his career, he has played the roles of a wide range of interesting characters. He advises hard work, self-belief, and regular participation in theatre for young actors to succeed.

Manohar Teli is an Actor and Theatre Artist in Mumbai.

Manohar remembers starting his career in professional theatre in 1986 while he was a student at MB College. He continued doing this and made some notable acquaintances. Some time later, he came to know Bhanu Bharti and started working under his direction.

After receiving his Diploma in Performing Arts, he relocated to Mumbai and was hired to play the role of a bodyguard in the movie ‘Godmother’. In addition, he has made appearances in a number of serials, such as the feature ‘Wounded’.   The film 'Shrameya: The Laborious' was directed and developed by him. He has made contributions to several motion pictures and television series, including Bulandi, Kadam, Ziddi Dil Mane Na, Lal Banarsi, and Harphool Mohini. He also played the role of Deepika Padukone's father in the movie ‘Chhapaak’ and had a small part in the movie ‘Mili’.

Hailing from Udaipur, Manohar completed his education there itself. He did a BSc. from MB College and a B.Ed. from Nimbark College. He also earned an MSc. degree in Rajasthani Literature from Sukhadia University. He completed his three-year Diploma in Performing Arts from the NSD, Delhi.

Manohar cherishes his childhood memories as he spent his childhood playing in Udaipur's streets. He finished his education in public schools. He used to skip classes to witness the Gavri dance and then play it, which helped him get selected for NSD.

He claims that he struggled a lot as a child. He also encountered numerous difficulties when performing in the theatre. He also used to give tuition to supplement his income, and used to read a lot. He believes that challenges are an inevitable part of life and that he is still struggling.

For aspiring actors, Manohar advises that there is no shortcut to success. Working hard and believing in oneself is essential. To improve one's acting skills, one should participate in theatre. To be successful in the creative field, you must work hard and be consistent.

Admitting his mistakes, Manohar says that he has made many mistakes in life but always tried not to repeat them again.

Comparing education with experience, Manohar asserts that in order to pursue any career, one must finish their fundamental education up to graduation. Education gives you the ability to reason.

He enjoys spending time with his family when he has free time. He enjoys reading novels as well.

If he gets a time machine, he would like to travel back in time to the age of black and white films and perform in them if he were granted an opportunity to do so.
