Manmeet Kaur Hora is a Teacher at Central Public School, Udaipur.
Born and raised in the Pali District of Rajasthan, Manmeet now lives in Udaipur. She says that she had been brought up well with all the facilities and got to enjoy a lavish childhood.
Manmeet says initially she had dreamt of becoming a doctor, however, she couldn’t join the college in another city due to the social restriction on girls. Later, she also got an interview call from an Airline for the post of Air Hostess but had to drop it too due to the same societal issues. Eventually, she joined the B.Sc. course and started giving tuitions after completing her twelfth.
After getting married, Manmeet came to Udaipur with her husband three years back and joined CPS. She says that the director of the school, Mrs. Alka Sharma’s compassionate guidance and warm ambience of the school has been very accommodating..
When asked about her role models, Manmeet says she considers her mother and mother-in-law as her role models. She says that both of them have been instrumental in her development and have taught her many vital life skills. She shares a deep and living relationship with her father and says that she was lucky to have him in her life. She is also thankful to be blessed with such a supportive husband and a caring brother.
Sharing her views on the impact of COVID, Manmeet says it disrupted the education system badly. She says that teaching through the online mode was a challenge and students also faced numerous problems in the process. On a personal level, she says she got to learn using technology for teaching.
In her leisure time, Manmeet likes spending quality time with her family and also going on outings with the family. She also likes listening to music and watching Punjabi movies.
Given a chance to go back in time with a Time Machine, Manmeet would like to relive the cheerful moments with her late father.
Advising aspiring teachers, Manmeet says that you should be accommodating to your students and guide them in the process of learning.
