Hard work, perseverance, and consistency are the necessities for a successful business.
Manish Ganna is the owner of Jyoti Brush Industries, a synthetic paint brush and disperser manufacturer in Udaipur.
Recalling his childhood, Manish shares that his father was a government teacher, and due to his father's transfers, he had to frequently change schools. He also faced some health issues when he was in the 11th grade and lagged behind in his studies.
Manish was a bright child, and everyone expected him to pursue government services, but he wanted to do his own business. For that, he took training in Mumbai for three years and also worked there to gain experience. But seeing the hectic lifestyle of Mumbai, he came back to Udaipur and embarked on his entrepreneurial journey here.
Recounting his struggles, Manish shares how he used to travel long distances in search of raw material, manpower, and other resources. He started off with just one person and now has over 30 employees in his enterprise. He started slow and ventured into manufacturing too, making his business grow.
Manish believes that experience and education are complementary to each other; both are the building blocks of a successful enterprise.
Sharing his experience of the lockdown period, Manish says during the lockdown, he was stuck at Pali, but he somehow managed to come back to Udaipur and join his Rotary Club friends in distributing food packets, masks, and other items to needy people. When businessmen were forced to lay off their employees, he stood by them, created awareness regarding the pandemic, and provided them with the necessary support, not only financially but also mentally.
Manish feels that the ability to communicate effectively with a wide spectrum of people comes in handy in business operations. With hard work, perseverance, and consistency, he converted a cash-deficient business into a self-sufficient one.
In his spare time, Manish loves playing badminton, cricket, and singing.
If he is given a chance to go back in time in a time machine, Manish would love to join the Navy and serve the country.
