Manish Singh Chauhan is a gym trainer at the Udaipur Fitness Club and the winner of Mr. Rajasthan 2016.
Recalling his childhood, Manish says he hails from Udaipur and has been passionate about gyming, bodybuilding, and cricket since his school days. Average in studies, Manish shares that he focused more on bodybuilding, as a result of which he couldn’t clear his tenth. Thereafter, he moved to Indore to clear his tenth through distance education.
Discussing his challenges, Manish says that while he was on the roof of his Indore hostel, he mistakenly touched a wire, and due to a high electrical shock, he fainted. His friends rushed him to the hospital, and it took him almost four to five months to recover. He further shares that after his recovery, he again got infected and had to undergo over seven operations. Unfortunately, he ended up losing one of his arms.
After those horrible incidents, Manish started feeling inferior in front of others. But he decided to stand up and never look back. He started playing cricket and continued his education too. He joined Gurunanak School for his intermediate and began to play kabaddi. Manish underwent gym training at Kishna Gym Club, Udaipur.
Speaking of his achievements, Manish shares that he was happy to have represented his school in kabaddi in Jaipur. He says that while he went to the tournament, he was initially ignored by his team leaders and mocked for being handicapped. But Manish left everyone amazed by his performance, and he got selected for the Pro-Rajasthan Kabaddi. He also played three state tournaments in Udaipur.
Later, Manish went to North India for a tournament, and his team achieved fifth place. He always wanted to play kabaddi up to the state level, but the team managers rejected him for being handicapped, and unfortunately he got a ligament injury, so he had to give up the sport.
Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Manish is of the opinion that education is more important than experience. But together, education and experience can help people move forward in their lives. He further says that sports should also be a part of one's life.
If Manish could travel back in time through a time machine, he would join the Indian Army or pursue a career in sports.
Advising the young generation, Manish suggests staying positive even when the whole world tries to put you down. For aspiring bodybuilders, Manish says that they must be dedicated, have a proper diet, and undergo relevant training to pursue a career in the fitness industry.
Trekking and exploring new places are his favorite pastimes.
