Maneesh wanted to become an actor and model, but destiny showed him the path of photography, and he emerged as a popular fashion photographer. Over time, he has  earned a good name in commercial photography.

Maneesh Saxena is a Mumbai-based Fashion Photographer. He has been practicing this profession for the past twenty-five years. He also teaches photography through his YouTube channel to upcoming photographers.

Maneesh was born and brought up in Alwar, Rajasthan but has been living in Mumbai for a long time now. He even tried his hand at acting and modeling in Pune. Soon, he developed an interest in photography, and gradually, he moved towards making a career in it. For that, instead of taking any formal education in photography, he assisted renowned photographers in the industry and stood on his own feet while learning from them.

Maneesh shares that being a struggling model and actor, he used to spend a lot of his time among actors. Due to this, his photography journey also started with shooting portrait photography and modeling portfolios rather than wedding photography. Soon, he ventured into editorial and commercial photography as well and worked for big magazines and newspaper agencies.

Describing his struggles, Maneesh says that back then, photography used to be an expensive profession as he had to take as many good photographs as possible in fewer shots, due to the limited number of photos possible in a roll. Apart from this, it used to take a whole day to develop the positives of the photographs, which was a cumbersome process. He adds that technological advancement in this field happened at a very slow pace due to which he had to face many struggles to establish himself in this field.

Explaining his mistakes, Maneesh says that in his youth, he took everything for granted and always assumed that his knowledge and understanding were perfect in his field and hence, he did not need to know anything further. Consequent to these mistakes, he stumbled a lot in life. But as soon as he realized those mistakes, he learned from them, moved ahead, and has been able to make his mark in the field of photography.

In his free time, Maneesh likes to listen to songs and gazals and sing. He is also fond of watching movies, spending time with his family, and traveling.

Advising aspiring photographers, Maneesh says that instead of buying expensive gadgets to enter into the field of photography, they should first understand the techniques and fundamentals of photography, learn its technical aspects, and make strategies to grow further in this business.

Maneesh advises today’s generation to study well, take deep knowledge, practice a lot, and think about the money later. He also advises them to take special care of their health in order to perform for long hours on the field. He tells them to be patient as no one gets success overnight.
