By studying dietetics and nutrition, Malvika fulfilled her long-lost dream of becoming a doctor. She helps people find a solution to their health issues by providing them with a customized diet plan.

Malvika Fulwwani is a Dietician and Nutritionist who belongs to Nagpur, Maharashtra. She runs her own private clinic called Healthitude, which implies Healthy+Attitude. Malvika has been working in this field for six years now.

Malvika did her postgraduate in Dietetics and Nutrition and worked with various hospitals in Mumbai and Nagpur. She provides diet advice to people who have diseases and conditions like coronary artery problems, diabetes, thyroid, and PCOS. Malvika is also a Certified Diabetes Educator and an active member of the Indian Dietetic Association.

Recalling her childhood, Malvika says that she wanted to become a doctor; however, she couldn't make it to the entrance exam. Thereafter, she opted for a B.Sc in Biotechnology and Microbiology from Nagpur University. She later realized that she couldn't connect to the field much, and this was when she came across Dietetics and Nutrition. Malvika, as a chubby kid since her childhood, could relate to the science of nutrition. She also used to take dietary consultations back then and later decided to help herself as well as others by doing a PG Diploma in Dietetics followed by an internship in Mumbai.

When asked about her role models, Malvika says that her biggest inspiration has been her teacher, Dr. Shakti Sharma, who brought her on the paramedical journey. She feels fortunate to have had mentors who motivated her to keep herself updated with the latest research in the nutrition field.

Talking about the challenges in her field, Malvika says that these days people are doing short- term courses on diet and suggesting others’ dietary plans even when they don’t have the required expertise and the basic knowledge of science. She goes on to mention that people in her city have very limited knowledge of diet and nutrition, and they fail to understand its importance.

Discussing the pandemic, Malvika says that post COVID, people have started to understand the importance of immunity and good eating practices, which she feels happy about. She adds that COVID gave us enough time to spend with our families and realize the real meaning of life.

If Malvika could travel back in a Time Machine, she would become a doctor. However, she finds solace and contentment in whatever she is doing today.

When asked about her thoughts on leadership, Malvika says she believes herself to be a born leader who used to take up managerial roles back during her school days.

As a message to aspiring dietitians, Malvika says one must have studied Chemistry in their 12th standard, followed by a basic degree in science to become a dietician. Thereafter, they should opt for diet and nutrition as their specialization to gain mastery over the subject. Malvika says that dieticians should also know multiple languages and have good listening skills.

Malvika is a jolly person who, in her free time, likes to socialize and make new friends. She is also fond of doing certificate courses to enhance her knowledge and often indulges in research to upskill herself. Malvika is also an avid reader.
