Malavika is blessed with diverse interests in dance, theatre, music, and teaching. She has always attempted to bring art teachers into the mainstream at schools.

Malavika Joshi is a creative personality with a keen interest in dance, theatre, and music. At the same time, she fulfilled her interest in teaching and has 33 years of experience in the field.

Recalling her childhood, Malavika says that she was born in Mhow, a place near Indore, MP. Her grandparents raised her, and she went to St. Mary's School. Her grandma preferred cultural pursuits, whilst her grandfather was a botanist. Malavika took up teaching and art after being inspired by them. She earned a B. Ed. after completing her M.Sc. in Botany, which she believes was predestined for her.

On the other hand, Malavika’s mother was a dancer who wanted her daughters to learn dance. At the same time, she happened to accidentally enter the theatre, which later became her favourite hobby.

Pursuing her creative endeavours, Malavika completed her Bachelor of Music and is a B-grade artist in All India Radio's Drama department. She also did a certificate course in Bharatanatyam dance. Based in Bhopal, Malavika has worked for UNICEF and the Department of Education, Madhya Pradesh.

There came a time when Malavika had to decide to either go into teaching or the arts or pursuing both at the same time. She sought advice from her school principal, after which she was made the cultural coordinator. Thereafter, Malavika attempted to introduce innovative ideas of teaching by merging art with other subjects that were taught at the school. Alongside, her interest in storytelling came to light, through which she would explain various concepts to her students.

Speaking about her achievements, Malavika shares that she has won several titles, such as the “Best Teacher” award, the "Best Communicator,” and the “Best Story” award.

When feeling low, Malavika likes to spend time with her pet. She advises others to learn the art of letting go in order to remain calm and stress-free.
