A dedicated and hard-working nursing officer, Mahesh successfully served for the last 40 years and is now retired from his service. He also served as the General Secretary of their Union for 14 years.

Mahesh Chand Jain is a retired Nursing Officer in Udaipur.

Mahesh is from Sawai Madhopur. After getting his nursing degree, he started working for the government.

Mahesh says he was first posted to Jodhpur, where he picked up a lot of knowledge and experience. He learnt more about his line of work and appropriate behaviour towards patients and his team members. He toiled for the benefit of the populace at all times; in fact, he once put in sixteen hours a day without stopping. After serving for 8 years in Jodhpur, he was moved to Sawai Madhopur and served there for 28 years.

Speaking about his accomplishments, Mahesh states that working for the government nonstop for eight years at one location and then for an additional twenty-eight years on another posting is his greatest accomplishment. For fifteen years, he also held the position of General Secretary of their Union.

Describing his struggles, Mahesh shares that he came from a middle-class household and experienced numerous ups and downs as well as financial difficulties. He had challenges with food, money, and other things while he was studying. But he persevered and smiled through every hardship, never giving up on life. He thinks it's critical to acknowledge the issue and come up with a personal plan of action to resolve it.

He reveals that as he was fond of reading, he had read epics like the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, and the Gita while he was in the sixth grade.

He looks up to his incharge Dr. Suresh Mathur who oversaw the nursing department; she taught him how to work with grace and compassion. It is crucial to concentrate on the task at hand without anticipating any benefits, he also discovered. He also learned to always do every work with love.

He finds great motivation in the words "Khudi ko kar buland itna."

Mahesh acknowledges that he was a bad kid and that he made a lot of errors due to his foolishness. He made the mistake of always playing instead of paying attention to his academics. However, he never hesitated in providing a helping hand to others, regardless of the outcome. Occasionally, others took advantage of his generosity.

He advises anyone considering a career in nursing that it is a great profession that serves society. Benefits can be obtained in the form of money or happiness. Serving others should be the driving force for entering this industry. In this profession, the ability to make quick decisions and do hard work should be developed. Empathy and patience are essential in this field.

Comparing education and experience, Mahesh says he believes that although education is necessary for advancement, experience is necessary for success.

He enjoys reading books in his spare time since they are inspirational and educational.

If given a time machine to go back in time, he would use it to go back and fix some of his faults.
