Madhumita originally hails from Bihar. She was born in a farmer’s family. But up till sixth-grade studied in Delhi at her aunt’s place. But due to some financial crisis, she had to go back to Bihar and continue her education there.

Madhumita says she has always been a rebel and has always stood up to what she believes in. After completing her schooling in Bihar, she moved out of Bihar to complete her bachelors. She completed her undergraduate in Computer Science.
Madhumita feels that the need of the hour is to generate as much employment as possible. And for that new companies and businesses must be built. She says earlier people would start their own business after working in the corporate sector for thirty-forty years. But now things have changed and even sixteen year olds are running their own companies.
Whilst she was still in the third year of her bachelors, Madhumita conceived “ KaroStartup.” Madhumita says that when you start with nothing, you have nothing to lose. She started doing an internship with an ed-tech company and then she worked with an e-commerce company to learn how businesses function. She says she learned a lot working at these companies. She adds, to be able to run any business successfully, you have to work hard relentlessly and it’s not like that now you have become the founder of your company and money will automatically flow to your bank accounts.
Madhumita says that initially, she started making and uploading content on social media. And soon, she was lucky enough to have found an investor from the US who showed their willingness in investing in her start-up and vision.
Talking about the challenges she faced in starting up on her own, Madhumita says that one has to face a lot of challenges in setting up your business. She says she found it quite challenging to hire the right set of people for her start-up. It was quite challenging to manage the funds and utilize them in an optimized fashion. Besides, she says that many people had different advice and it was a bit challenging to decide what was right for her. But, she advises the budding entrepreneurs that irrespective of what people have to advise you, never divert from the vision that you hold for your company.
Madhumita feels accomplished when she is able to inspire others through her work. She says she gets to interact and interview CEOs of different companies and in the process, she learns a lot. Besides, she has been invited as a panelist by different colleges for their business events.
Madhumita thinks that making mistakes is not wrong. But what’s more important is to learn from your mistakes and not commit them again. She says that she also made many mistakes. Once, she gave huge equity of her company to an investor for a paltry amount of money that he invested.
To aspiring entrepreneurs, Madhumita advises that just believe in your idea and start-up. It’s not that you need to have a lot of money to start up. And, irrespective of gender, anybody can be a great entrepreneur. Besides, she advises that talk to as many people as possible, create your own network of people who can guide and mentor you in your start-up. Furthermore, she advises that never underestimate yourself as to what you can do. She also adds that you should keep yourself updated with what is happening across the globe in the business world as it really helps in running a business.
Madhumita believes that whatever happens, happens for your own good only. Therefore, even if she could go back in time, she would not want to change anything in her past.
