Imtiyaz had always wanted to become a teacher, and his efforts paid off when he attained his goal. He is content in his life and enjoys imparting his knowledge to the young students.

Lone Imtiyaz has been working as a teacher in a government school since 2014, before which he was working as a contractual lecturer.

Imtiyaz is a resident of the Kralgund area in North Kashmir. He did his schooling at a local school in his village. He pursued a bachelor's degree from GDC, Baramulla. Later on, for his postgraduate studies, he did his Master's in English from Kashmir University.

Acknowledging that he was not a genius or the one who tops the class, Imtiyaz thinks that whatever he has achieved is all due to hard work. Hard work and seriousness at work are what he believes lead to success.

When asked about his role models, Imtiyaz says that he is inspired by Mr. Farooq's teaching style, who taught him economics, and still longs for a chance to attend his lecture. Likewise, he was influenced by Ms. Sumaira, an English professor at GDC Baramulla, in his college days.

Imtiyaz says that the opportunity to become a lecturer and not being able to go for research even though insisted by his parents are the two mistakes he regrets. However, the decision to not pursue research was completely taken to shoulder family responsibilities. Given that he was the family's eldest, he had to sacrifice for others.

Talking about the hardships of life, Imtiyaz remembers how growing up in a financially weak family forced him to use second-hand clothes and books, and once he had to wear his grandfather's shoes to school.

Talking about the importance of education and experience in one's career, Imtiyaz considers both necessary, but later in life, experience plays a decisive role he believes.

Like many children, in his childhood, Imtiyaz was not fond of going to school, but once a thrashing by his father was enough to make him understand the importance of going to school regularly,

In his spare time, apart from reading, Imtiaz likes to play cricket and table tennis.

If given a chance to travel back in time through a time machine, Imtiyaz would like to live childhood to the fullest and rectify the mistakes he committed.

Imtiyaz says that COVID-induced lockdowns were a bane for humanity, but during this phase, he taught students using online mediums and, more importantly, faced the camera for the first time.
