Practice and Passion can help you achieve your dreams.
Lekha Sahu is the owner of Lekha Beauty Lounge & Academy and has been providing beautician services for women for the last five years.
Based in Udaipur, Lekha started small without support from her family. She gradually convinced them to let her pursue her passion. She had always loved doing makeup and creating new hairstyles, so she decided to turn her hobby into a full-time profession. After six months of hard work, she began to gain recognition and attract customers.
Initially, she operated from a small space at home. In 2018, with the help of her husband and sisters, she inaugurated her own salon. Starting alone, she eventually expanded her team to 10 members, providing various services for skin, hair, and makeup exclusively for women.
Born in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, Lekha completed her education there. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Arts in English Literature and Psychology.
During the COVID pandemic, Lekha had to close her salon, leading to the cancellation of all her advance bookings. However, she did not lose hope and improved her services after the lockdown.
Initially, Lekha faced several challenges, including managing both her baby and clients, which was a challenging task. With the support of her mother-in-law, she managed her work effectively. Operating from home initially, she also lost some customers due to the limited space of her room back then. She faced personal tragedies as well, losing her brother to suicide, followed by the loss of her sister. These events deeply affected her, but she decided to open her salon to distract herself and move forward for her family.
Lekha draws inspiration from her mother and mother-in-law, whose life stories motivated her to achieve great things. Whenever she felt overwhelmed, they encouraged her to keep going.
In 2018, Lekha was the first runner-up in the 'Best Bridal Makeup Competition,' which she considers a significant achievement.
In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, writing poems, and spending time with her family. She also values her moments of solitude.
For aspiring beauticians, she suggests practicing patience and honing their skills regularly. She believes that after failure, success will definitely come and advises against giving up. She encourages everyone to learn from their failures and maintain a positive outlook.
