Lalita Singh was born and raised in Jodhpur. She completed her school and college education in Jodhpur itself. She did her BA and then she did her MA in Educational Psychology. She has also done a Diploma in Guidance and Counseling.
Lalita shares that in school she was more interested in sports than studies. Hence she chose to pursue Humanities in high school. However, in her Bachelors, she grew interested in Psychology which was one of her subjects and later she also did a Masters in Psychology.
After completing her Masters, she worked as a freelance Psychologist with a company based in Pune. Then she worked with DPS school in Jodhpur as a Counselor. She also worked with Sarathi Foundation where she worked with autistic kids.
Talking about her challenges, Lalita says that initially people would not take her profession seriously. Her relatives would come for her counseling and would not consider paying money for her counseling sessions.
To be able to participate in the Republic Day Parade at Rajpath, New Delhi is her biggest achievement to date, Lalita says.
In her spare time, Lalita likes to do Yoga, Meditation and Cycling. Besides, she is a mountaineer too and is doing some relevant training courses to be able to summit mountain peaks.
In future, Lalita aims to pedal from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to raise awareness about Mental Health.
Talking about Covid, Lalita says that during the pandemic she did all those things which she could not do earlier. She started reading books, learned Yoga and also explored her artistic self by learning to Paint and Draw. She also started YouTube Vlogging and Content Writing during the pandemic.
Her Success Mantra is to have a clear focus on her goals and to embrace the challenges as they come.
Her parents are her biggest inspiration. Her mother, who also works in the medical field, inspires Lalita the most.
Lalit thinks that Psychology as a subject is very interesting and it has a good scope in future. To aspiring psychologists, she advises them to get their fundamentals of the subject right.
