Lalita Godawat is the owner and sole proprietor of LG Jewelry.

Lalita has been a dealer of artificial jewelry for the past 15 years. As her husband faced huge losses in his business, she took the mantle of financial responsibility for the sake of her family.

Initially, a lady client started providing her jewelry and she sold the goods in her store. She learned many things in her initial days about jewelry and the importance of working honestly. Then she decided to purchase jewelry from Mumbai where there were better business opportunities. She went to Mumbai to expand her business. One wholesaler in Mumbai supported her, seeing her honesty.

She faced struggles initially. Despite her reluctance, she had no choice but to travel alone on a bus to Mumbai. She received help from a kind trader on her second visit and she set up her jewelry business with his help. The trader gave her goods worth 20 lakhs on credit for setting up her business properly. She treats him like a brother to this day and is ever so grateful for his kindness. She established LG jewelers. However, during this time her family home was lost.

Her son worked a good job and helped her through this financial struggle. Her daughter, despite still in college, taught tuition to support herself financially. She gradually expanded her business and paid off her husband’s debts.

The Covid 19 pandemic was economically a financial disaster for the country. However, she saw this as an opportunity to take a break from her ever-so-busy schedule of business-related work. She spent some positive time with her family during the lockdown and made some wonderful memories together.

Everyone is impressed with her jewelry store. Her customers always become permanent after an interaction with her. She operates with honesty and self-discipline in business. She makes sure that her interaction with customers and potential customers is good so that the word-of-mouth advertisement is in a positive light. For her, the most important point is customer satisfaction. She says one should provide quality products to customers at all times.

Lalita always counsels females in distress. She has advised many females who had suicidal tendencies and dissuaded them from taking such a step.

Lalita likes traveling, but she did not have any hobbies for ten years as she was busy with her business. She states that no one helps in our tough times, so we need to forge our own destiny. She is a deeply religious person.
