Lalit Kumar Purohit works as a Centre Manager at Crisil Foundation - a CSR program helping the rural population become financially smart in collaboration with the RBI.
Lalit Kumar hails from Khamnor village in the Rajsamand district of Rajstahn. He did his school education from his village itself, and then pursued his graduation and MA at the MLSU, followed by MSW at Vidyapeeth University. He wanted to study Science after his tenth standard but couldn’t due to family responsibilities.
Lalit started off his career with the Educating Girls program in the capacity of Block Officer. Subsequently he worked with various NGOs and SHOs in various capacities before finally joining the Crisil Foundation.
Lalit considers his mother and his elder brother to be his role models. He says that his mother has played an instrumental role in his life and raised him to have high morals. Professionally speaking, he says that his role model is one of his senior colleagues, who motivated him to continue social work just when he had decided to quit.
Sharing his experience during the COVID pandemic, Lalit says that despite the obvious difficulties, he was grateful for the time that the whole family got to spend together.
The little free time he gets, Lalit likes to spend it in completing his pending tasks and helping his mother out with household chores.
Advising the aspiring social workers, Lalit says that you should come with the mindset of social service without considering the money in it.
