Lalit Mehta is from Udaipur, Rajasthan. He has been in the newspaper publicity business for thirty-five years now.
Lalit began his professional career in 1974, when he was in ninth grade. He started small, getting just Rs. 75 per month for the work he performed. Lalit continued working till 1985 before starting his advertising business. He borrowed Rs 2000 to kickstart his venture and eventually grew his business to a turnover of one crore. Lalit met many people who supported him during his journey, for which he is grateful.
Lalit completed his schooling at Guru Gobind Singh School. He then pursued his Bachelor in Commerce from BN College. Lalit is a hard-working person who used to ride 50 km daily and burn his midnight oil to scale heights in his business. For Lalit, hard work and honesty are the two pillars to becoming successful. He has been quite an enthusiastic person who learnt all relevant tasks by himself, and never did he let his tiredness overpower him.
For Lalit, both education and experience go hand in hand.
When asked about the pandemic days, Lalit says that due to the pandemic, he had to shift his business work online. On the personal front, he is happy that he got ample time to spend with his family during the lockdown.
Talking about role models, Lalit says he considers his maternal uncle as his role model, who introduced him to the intricacies of his work profile. He also draws inspiration from the former Managing Director of Rajasthan Patrika and admires him for his working style and life experiences.
In his free time, Lalit likes to take some good rest and watch television.
