Being an amazing sportsperson since childhood, Lalit fulfilled his dream of becoming a cricketer by battling all the highs and lows of his life and is successfully living his dream by building his career in cricket with hopes of achieving heights in life.

Lalit Kumar is a passionate cricketer.

Lalit was born and brought up in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He did his schooling from there itself. Then he moved to Delhi in 2014, as his father was transferred there. Going there, his father wanted him to pursue a good course in Delhi. But in the hope of becoming a cricketer, he ran away from home and did not return for two years.

Lalit started his journey by moving to Ghaziabad. There, due to financial constraints, he took up the job of a security guard. He struggled a lot, even to earn two meals a day for a couple of months. Even in such a situation, he did not let his passion for cricket die and used to practice it every night. He hardly managed to make ends meet by doing odd jobs. Gradually, it became so difficult for him to make a living that he was not able to concentrate on his game and realized that he would not be able to fulfill his dream only by stubbornness. Eventually, he returned to his home after two years of hardship.

Recalling his childhood, Lalit says that since childhood, he was very fond of playing cricket. He says that he did not even go to school as he wanted to play cricket. Along with cricket, he was active in other sports also like football, badminton, high jump, etc. But he turned his hobby into a passion when India won the Cricket World Cup in 2011. That’s when he set out to become a cricketer.

When asked about his role models, Lalit says he considers his father as his role model as he has inherited courage, perseverance, and hard work from him. In addition, his younger brother is also a role model as he  helped him improve his game and reach this point. Besides, his mother is his biggest strength for supporting him emotionally.

Describing his struggles, Lalit says that his father was totally against him becoming a cricketer and the financial crunch at home was such that he needed to choose some other field to fulfill the household responsibilities. That time had been the most challenging for him.

In Lalit’s opinion, experience matters more than education because experience comes from all your struggles that you undergo and it has the ability to make you achieve a good position in life. He believes that bookish knowledge only gives you an understanding of right and wrong, but your life experience teaches you how to live life and gives you the courage to move forward by fighting every struggle in your life.

Besides cricket, Lalit is fond of dancing, swimming, and running in his spare time.

Lalit advises the youth to be disciplined because survival is difficult without it. He also advises everyone to take care of their health and spend maximum time with their loved ones.

Giving a message to the young generation, Lalit says that before losing your senses to the dazzling life of celebrities, know the story behind the glamor and see the struggle behind it, only then think of following it in your life.
