Lalit is an experienced educationist who is eminently committed to his service, profession, and the institution he is working at.

Lalit Goswami is the Principal at Alok Sr. Sec. School, Rajsamand. He has been associated with the institution for about 25 years now.

Lalit Goswami was born and brought up in Deogarh, Rajasthan. He studied there till his eighth standard and then moved to Rajsamand to complete his secondary schooling at an English medium school. Thereafter, looking for his preferred stream of PCMB, he moved to Udaipur and completed his high school at St. Gregorios school. Then he graduated from VIdya Bhavan College, Udaipur. He also participated in the college elections and won the elections to become the President of the Student Union.

Originally, Lalit had dreamt of becoming an IAS Officer but he couldn’t clear the Civil Services Exam. He had also cleared the nursing entrance exam but didn’t join as he was focused on clearing the CSE. However, being from a humble background it was essential for Lalit to find a job. Thus he joined Alok School as a Teacher and also started a coaching institute which he ran for about fifteen years. He joined the teaching profession just to support his means but gradually it became his passion.

The COVID pandemic was a catastrophe for everyone and Lalit was no exception to it. In the first phase of the pandemic, Lalit and his administrative team kept close contact with parents and ensured the seamless operation of online schooling. For him, everything went smoothly on a personal level too.

But the second phase of the disease proved to be devastating for him. He and his brother-in-law contracted the disease, and many of his staff members lost their loved ones to it, everything seemed to be falling apart for him. But through his resilience and the support of his colleagues and family he and his brother-in-law successfully beat the virus. Lalit says that like every challenging situation, this situation too taught us many important lessons. He continues to say that we understood the value of friends, family, and financial planning; and professionally, he says, teachers had to do a lot of catching up with their tech-savvy students and learned to keep themselves up-to-date with the latest technology.

In his free time, Lalit likes to read and sometimes write down inspirational quotes to deliver to his students.

If given a chance to go back in time by a Time Machine, Lalit would like to revisit the days when he was preparing for the CSE and work even harder to manifest his dream of becoming an IAS Officer. He would also like to return to the time when a clean and green environment was not a rarity, and would like to enjoy the soothing nature.

Talking about his role models, Lalit says that Swami Vivekanand and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam are his idols. He also admires Dr. Pradeep Kumawat, whose social work inspires Lalit.

When it comes to achievements in life, Lalit says that his biggest achievement as a teacher is to see his students reach the pinnacle of success.

The success mantra which Lalit follows uncompromisingly is to be disciplined, committed, and consistent.

Lalit says that the teaching profession, in contemporary times, has transformed a lot. He says these days it's important to be professional and innovative to be a good teacher, unlike earlier days when teaching was deemed rather casual.
