One should always work with honesty in life.
One should always work with honesty in life.
Lalit Choudhary is the owner of Shree Vinayak Construction and Builders. He has been running this construction and building firm for the past four years.
Lalit was born in Udaipur and did his schooling from an English medium school in his locality.
Since childhood, Lalit wanted to become a businessman, so after coming to college he could not decide in which stream he should pursue his engineering. Upon his friend’s suggestion, he took admission in Civil Engineering and after completion of his practical training, he was offered Rs. 10000/- by a construction company along with offering him to become permanent. He started working there along with his studies. So alongside his studies, he also got a very good working experience.
After completing his engineering, he did at least seven-to-eight jobs in which he did not make money but he earned a lot of experience. Because of a rift with his partners, he opened his own construction company eventually and has been running it since then and has gradually grown his clientbase.
During the lockdown, Lalit says three of his sites were running at that time, out of which he had to leave one of them because the work could not be done in full swing and the pressure was too much. He could not feed the labourers for more than two months from his pocket and hence he had to leave that work. On the rest of his sites, he was permitted to work by following all the guidelines and covid protocols. He says during all this, he felt positivity as well as negativity. Negative because one of his sites got closed and he was in dire need of money as the rotation of money in the market had stopped. Positive because his work got done in good speed as the labourers did not have any other work so they gave all their time to him. Gradually, he started his own project of selling constructed houses.
Lalit considers Sejad Khan as his role model because he is the one who brought Lalit into the construction line and taught him a lot that helped him become a good contractor and builder. His father is also his role model because when he started his work, nobody knew Lalit’s name but due to his father he started getting contracts.
According to Lalit, education and experience are two sides of the same coin. He says education is important because you are asked about your qualifications when you are up for any job or you want to enter into any field. Experience is important because what you have learned in your life matters. If you have experience and no education, people will call you illiterate behind your back and if you are educated but don’t have any experience then anybody can make a fool out of you. So that’s why both are necessary and have important roles to play.
Lalit advises today’s generation to choose a field where you want to go and once you have chosen, start working hard to achieve your goal by staying focussed towards it and try to get it no matter what happens.
