Lal Chand Saini is a Miniature Painting Artist. He has been making miniature paintings for the past forty years.
Lal Chand belongs to Sheopur, Jaipur. He spent his childhood there itself and studied till seventh grade. Due to his passion for painting, he dropped out of school and took training in painting under the guidance of his teacher, Rajendra Kumar Saini.
Lal Chand believes that the present era is not as good for painters as it used to be in the past because, in the olden days, three-four people used to wait for a single painting. He reminisces the earlier era as a golden one for painters. He also says that in the present times, there has been a slowdown in the field of miniature painting.
Talking about his role models, Lal Chand says he considers his guru Rajendra Kumar Saini as his role model for bringing him so far in this field. Besides, he considers Krishna Kumar Rawat as his biggest source of inspiration as he picked up several qualities from him.
Regarding his achievements, Lal Chand says that in 2003, he was awarded by the Governor for the first time at Jawahar Kala Kendra for his Ganesh painting. In 2005, the Government of Rajasthan also rewarded him. In 2010, he was awarded the National Award by the Government of India. So far he has received many awards, rewards, titles, and prizes from universities and national and state organizations.
