Work hard and keep a positive outlook on life and on your chosen field of work.
Lakshman Singh Karnawat was born in Rajnagar near Rajsamand district in Rajasthan.
At fifteen years of age, Lakhsman Singh Karnawat started a godown where he sold diesel, kerosene and petrol. He operated the business for ten years. In 1967, he purchased a tanker. Ha also entered the transportation sector in 1967, purchasing buses to run on the Udaipur–Falna route. He quickly entered into another new business and purchased some agricultural land. Lakshman Singh claims that all his business ventures were profitable due to his hard work and dedication.
According to Lakshman Singh, difficulties arose when the government decided to nationalize buses in 1974. He claims that in order to pay off his debts, he had to sell off his farm during that difficult period. But his father encouraged him, asking Lakshman to take a new direction. After receiving guidance and encouragement from his father he began providing tourist services and operating his buses as tour buses from his Ahmedabad office.
Lakshamn’s spiritual path began in 1982 when he became close to Acharya Shri Tulsi of the Terapanth order. Along with accompanying Acharya Shri Tulsi , Acharya Shri Mahapragya, and Mahatapasvi Acharya Shri Mahashraman on their ‘Yatra’, Lakshman also accepted the responsibilities associated with them. He says that he learned a lot from the experience as it was the most endearing spiritual journey of his life.
For twelve years, Lakshman presided over the Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Smarak Suraksha Samiti as its President. In addition, he held the positions of Secretary of the All-Rajasthan Kerosene Association and President of the Bus Association.
Lakshman reveals that he writes as well. He has written a 2000 page book, divided into four volumes, about the Terapanth religion and its relationship to and impact on Mewar. In addition, he is writing a poetry book about the Mewar Maharanas. He is also finishing up his autobiography to share his experiences of the journey he had with the saints of Terapanth.
When Lakshman thinks back to his early years, he remembers how strict his grandmother was and how she used to closely monitor him. He needed to figure out how to play with his friends without getting caught. Lakshman recalls that they used to bathe at Rajsamand Lake, where he also picked up swimming.
Lakshman reveals that his father wished for him to become a doctor. However Lakshman had always wanted to establish a company of his own, so his father made him sign a stamp-paper promising not to hold his father accountable if Lakshman would fail in his endeavors and promising to finish his degree while running the business. Lakshman feels satisfied that he met both his father's conditions.
Lakshman believes that he has a lot of motivators and role models in his life. His uncle Devendra Karnawat, his father, and grandmother undoubtedly gave him the best advice. He looks up to his two friends, Jagdish Laddha and Mr. PL Pujari, who always tell the truth, go on family vacations, and have mutual trust. Lakshman also honors the wisdom of the Terapanth saints, whose teachings have helped him along the way.
Lakshamn tells us about a mistake he made that he will never forget and how he learned from it. He was teaching his little sister to swim when she was in the eighth grade when she started drowning, but he was able to save her at that point. After ten minutes, her sister regained consciousness. He will never forget that incident.
According to Lakshman, the current generation is unwilling to learn wisdom gained from the experiences of their elders. They do not have experience and a sense of anchored reality since they believe their academic knowledge to be all-important. According to him, in order to advance, we should take lessons from everyone's life experiences.
Lakshman would like to travel back in time, if given the chance, to the "Yatra" time frame, when he traveled with the three spiritual saints and had the opportunity to spend time with them and learn from them.
Lakshman counsels people to protect the environment and mother earth. Lakshman wants to advise everyone to always have a positive outlook. Lakshman emphasizes on the significance of keeping their word and abiding to their commitments. Lakshman advises people against endorsing wrongdoing and against profiting from illegal activity.
Lakshman ends by stating that your distinct shine comes from the hardships you have faced.
