A theater artist, Kunal had to pause his acting career for his studies. He received a National Young Artist Scholarship award from the Ministry of culture. He was the director of a gold-winning play at IIM Udaipur. He has been into theater for the past nine years.

Kunal Mehta is a Director and Producer at Udaipur Pictures in Mumbai.

Kunal is a native of Udaipur, Rajasthan but was brought up in Mumbai because of his family’s business there.

Theater groups in Mumbai, according to Kunal, are significantly more active. Consequently, his theatrical career began at his school. He performed in a Shivaji Jayanti parade as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He chose theater as a vocation because of the respect and admiration he received from others for his acting prowess.

Speaking of his achievements, Kunal says, becoming a member of a well-established circle of individuals despite hailing from a simple family is a significant accomplishment for him. The Ministry of Culture also awarded him a National Young Artist Scholarship. His piece was chosen for the Satrang Youth Festival's first runner-up position. He directed a play at IIM Udaipur that won a gold prize. In addition, he has won several accolades for his plays and cultural endeavors. It is an achievement for him to get a main role in a feature film which is causing a stir at international film festivals.

Kunal recalls his schooling made it challenging for him to focus on theater, though. When he returned to theater through a youth festival while attending higher secondary school in Udaipur, he never looked back.

He takes inspiration from every person who works hard to achieve a goal.

Kunal tells others who are just starting out in his industry that it's a glamorous yet challenging field. However, it's also one of the greatest domains in which to hone your art. Since theater is the greatest acting school, it is essential to enroll there in order to break into this field. In theater, he claims, there are no shortcuts. Theatre is a great place to start if you want to become an actor since it teaches you associated skills like lighting, direction, screenplay, and writing.

The Sanskrit shlok that motivates him is "चरैवेति चरैवेति," which translates to "keep marching on."

If Kunal gets a time machine, he would like to go back in time,  and attempt to avoid inadvertently hurting anyone. He would also like to atone for his mistake of not having a backup plan, since he feels that he would have reached a different level of success if he had spent that time developing his acting career rather than going after BioTech.

According to Kunal, if everyone gives their best in their respective fields then the country will progress.
