An ace multidisciplinary fine artist prospering in the world of art, Krishna Roy is known as the first lady tattoo artist in the country.

Krishna Roy lives and works in Delhi, she is Bachelor in Fine Arts with a specialization in Sculpture from Delhi University. She says Art is her passion, from her childhood she was interested in arts.

Krishna claims she is known as the first lady Tattoo artist in India who owns a studio named “Frozen Ink and Art”.

Remembering her childhood, Krishna says she lost her father when she was pretty young, and all her upbringing was done by her mother. Her family was conservative and being a single child it was very difficult for her to choose an unconventional career.

Krishna recalls the time when she wanted to explore her passion for art, but the courses of art institutes were not affordable for her. She says during that time, the field of Tattooing tempted her very much and she decided to learn this art.

Krishna says to learn and explore the art of tattooing, she visited many places in India, did random jobs, and gained experience. She started her studio in 2015 with a dream of offering the best services in tattooing, sculpturing and digital paintings, etc.

Krishna takes pride in telling us about her learning, practicing the art, and opening the studio with merelt twenty thousand rupees in her pocket, without any financial support from her family as achievements of her life.

She rejoices in her achievement when she talks about her financial journey from twenty thousand to twenty lakhs per annum and being a single woman army for her venture.

She tells us about her plans as she wants to open an art school specially dedicated to underprivileged students.

She says her role model is her "Nani" who was a very strong personality and she was the one who took care of the family after her grandfather’s death.

Krishna advises budding artists to be ready with all their energy before you venture into the field of tattoos. She says young ones come into this field attracted by its glamor and charm but the reality is that there is no easy path to achieve a name in this field. You need to struggle a lot, and should try  to be away from distractions.

Krishna says COVID-19 was a boon for some people while it was a bane for some. She says adaptability needs to be learned by everyone as this is the rule of survival. She says during the pandemic, we learned that a happy life is to care for your family and maintain work and life balance.
