Komal Mutreja, co-founder of Nanotech Soft-App IT Solution in Gurgaon, has been a driving force in the IT industry for over a decade. Her company was established with the mission to deliver affordable and high-quality IT solutions.
Reflecting on her early days, Komal shares how she often failed in a few subjects but later made it to the merit list through hard work. She recounts an incident where one of her students lost her notebook, which later sparked an idea in Komal to create a tracking device.
Komal Mutreja’s entrepreneurial spirit was ignited during her school days. She recounts a childhood incident where her brother left his phone at home, leading her to worry about missed client calls and lost business. This early concern sparked her idea to create technology that would allow people to stay connected and avoid missing crucial opportunities.
Delving into her entrepreneurial challenges, Mutreja shares how she started with limited resources and bootstrapped her brand. Establishing a market presence and creating a recognizable identity was demanding, but Komal and her team quickly forged strong client relationships and formed partnerships with global firms in the US, Nigeria, Australia, and Brazil—milestones they view as major achievements.
Witnessing smiles on her employees' and customers' faces makes her happy. For Komal, her business goes beyond the monetary aspect and she finds fulfilment in pursuing her childhood dream.
During the COVID pandemic, Komal faced numerous hurdles but also saw it as an opportunity to invest boldly in a new product. While many were cautious, she took a daring step to develop a revolutionary product, expanding her team and working on a dream project named after her daughter. The pandemic taught her to cherish the present moment and not dwell excessively on the future.
When asked about her role models, Komal Mutreja says she finds inspiration in people who dare to dream and work towards it. She names Ankur Warikoo as one of her role models.
Regarding leadership, Komal considers herself to be a born leader. She rejects traditional notions of leadership where followers' views are suppressed. Instead, she sees herself as a leader who values inclusivity and collaboration, drawing inspiration from other corporate leaders to enhance her own skills.
Drawing comparisons between education and experience, Komal says education helps develop your personality. She believes that success is achieved through a combination of strong education and practical experience. It is the individual’s determination, hard work, and eagerness to learn that truly drive success.
If given an opportunity to travel back in time via a time machine, Komal would want to implement all the ideas she had as a teenager.
Komal Mutreja’s success mantra involves reading motivational books and drawing inspiration from the stories of successful individuals, which fuels her drive for learning and growth. The book ‘Atomic Habits’ is one of her favourites.
For those aspiring to enter the IT industry, Komal advises having a solid foundational knowledge and a distinct vision that sets them apart from the competition. She also suggests they read books by successful people and how they achieved success in life.
