Komal Gupta, a digital marketing entrepreneur born in New Delhi, founded Wecomm Digital, an EdTech company revolutionizing the digital presence of educational institutes. Despite facing numerous personal and professional challenges, Komal's perseverance led her to build her dream company.

Komal Gupta, a Digital Marketing Entrepreneur born in New Delhi, is the founder of Wecomm Digital, an education-focused digital marketing company. She graduated from Delhi University with a Master's Degree in Psychology and completed her education at Presentation Convent School.

Komal's career path began with internships in Business Development, Event Planning, and Sales and Marketing, helping her identify her true passion. Initially drawn to event management, she later chose digital marketing for its flexibility. Participating in a Google Marketing Challenge, she won a $500 credit to create a marketing strategy for a business, sparking her interest in the field.

She further honed her skills by enrolling in a Digital Marketing course at Digital Vidya, gaining extensive knowledge of SEO, email marketing, and brand building. Her stint with the EdTech Media company Campus Varta provided practical industry insights and deepened her interest in the EdTech sector.

Initially targeting women, education, and e-commerce, Komal eventually focused on education. Her company aims to enhance the online presence of educational institutions, offering comprehensive solutions like SEO, brand development, social media marketing, and portfolio shoots for schools, colleges, and coaching centres.

Komal believes that many institutions are not investing adequately in building their online presence. COVID-19 highlighted this gap, and her company responded by offering specialised software for online portals and school management to ensure continued education.

Komal has faced numerous challenges both personally and professionally. Initially, her family did not support her entrepreneurial ambitions, but her dedication won them over. Many clients underestimated her due to her age, and she initially struggled with communication skills. To improve, she joined the non-profit ‘Stop Today’ to hone her interpersonal abilities.

Building a strong team was another significant challenge, causing a two-year delay in launching her company. However, through networking events and referrals, she found individuals who shared her vision and were committed to the company's success. This helped her overcome the delay and successfully launch her venture.

Raised in a joint family of 20 members, Komal cherishes her childhood memories, especially those with her cousins and grandmother. She believes that family plays a crucial role in instilling values of love and compassion.

Komal’s success mantra is consistency, reaching out to the target audience, and gaining knowledge from industry experts. Her strategy involves dedicating the first six months to building the business and the rest of the year to working on it.

Komal advises newcomers to prioritise family support, maintain a clear vision, and build a loyal team. She emphasises the importance of gaining knowledge and skills, staying focused, and building a network of trustworthy people.

For Komal, experience and education go hand in hand. She believes that theoretical knowledge should be prioritised alongside practical experience gained through internships and jobs.

Her role models include her father, who built a successful business with minimal formal training, and her grandmother, who managed to keep a family of 20 together despite physical constraints. Komal admires them greatly.

She believes that natural leaders sometimes need external encouragement to develop their abilities. Support from her school teachers and work with various NGOs enhanced her leadership skills.

Komal draws inspiration from Sadhguru's quote, “It does not matter what the stars say. Once you are born as a human, you are supposed to be the master of your life.”

If she could travel back in time, Komal wouldn't change anything, as she values the lessons learned from her experiences.

Komal adheres to a daily routine to ensure personal time, which she spends journaling, walking, playing with her nephews, enjoying nature, and listening to music.

She believes that staying connected to oneself is essential for grounding, emphasising the importance of self-reflection and introspection to gain clarity and maintain inner peace. This connection aids in better decision-making and a deeper understanding of one's desires and goals.
