A tattoo artist, Komal Kumar is running his business and working hard to refine 3D tattoo designs.

Komal has been running a tattoo business in Dehradun for 15 years.

Komal was born in Dehradun. He was interested in art from his school time. Once his brother took him to Delhi to participate in a competition at an art and culture institute in Delhi. Komal won the competition and was selected among the top 100 artists of India. Komal was awarded a scholarship and many other facilities up to 11th grade in which he had to attend eight hours of art classes per week. However, when his father found that his academic studies were getting affected, he advised him to stop these classes.

Komal shares that his ancestors are from Nepal. His grandfather was in the Indian army and was martyred in the Indo-China war. Then his family settled in Dehradun.

Talking about his entry into the tattoo field, Komal says once he went to Japan where he was introduced to the tattoo machine and that kindled a  desire in him to make his career in this field.

Continuing with his tattoo journey, Komal says he went to Nepal. There he saw a flourishing tattoo industry. He learned the art of tattoo making there itself. After returning from there, Komal began his tattoo business in Dehradun and started receiving lots of appreciation from the people.

When asked about his role models, Komal says that he considers his father as his role model who inspired him to be something in life. He also considers himself as his role model.

In his free time, Komal likes to spend his time on social media. He has a lot of friends from different countries of the world. He also goes fishing and watches movies. Komal also works on making 3D tattoos.

For the aspirants of this field, Komal advises them to work hard. He also suggests doing a lot of practice and becoming perfect in this art before doing it on others’ skin.

In future, Komal says he wants to do more in his life and works hard to improve 3D tattoo designs.
