Kishan Sharma is the owner of Shri Gautam Chitrashala Sansthan - an Art Gallery, where he gives free of cost training too.
Kishan hails from Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. He was born and brought up in Rayata village and completed his education from there itself. Growing up, Kishan was an avid painter. He always wanted to become an artist and thus also took formal training from a notable artist in Bhilwara.
Kishan claims his paintings are unique as he skillfully paints on minute seeds. He says that miniature paintings are extremely difficult to paint as at times you’ll have to even use a microscope to draw properly. He has painted pictures of several famous personalities on pulses, rice and mustard seeds. Along with that, he is also associated with modern art.
Kishan’s talent has been recognised by the government too, as he was awarded by the President in 1994. He has also received awards from the Rajasthan state government three times. His numerous paintings have been selected in reputed art exhibitions all over India.
During the COVID pandemic, Kishan says, artists had to suffer a lot. He says that neither they could display their art in exhibitions nor they could sell it due to the lockdown. Kishan showed his concern for the needy through his art and also made people aware about the virus with creative paintings.
Talking about his role models, Kishan says that his parents and his guru are his idols as they played a substantial role in his life. He further says that he still learns from other notable artists in his field.
Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Kishan says that he places experience ahead of education in his life, as he believes that experience is a great teacher.
Kishan is of the opinion that artists should get more endorsement from the government, as in this day and age, it becomes difficult for an artist to earn a decent living. He says if the government supports artists then their talent would create magic.
If given a chance to relive his life through a Time Machine, Kishan would like to learn other skills too along with painting.
Advising the young generation, Kishan says that keep practising and don’t try to be perfect but try to be better every passing day. Additionally, he says that you should take part in maximum art competitions to gain experience.
Kishan likes listening to old songs while working on his paintings.
