Starting from a simple food truck, Kishan has propelled his business to international success, boasting 182 outlets worldwide, including 16 in Canada, the USA, and Australia, with expansion plans for the UK. His entrepreneurial journey is a testament to ambition and strategic growth.

Kishan Singh holds the position of Director and MD of the iconic chain of food joints known as ‘Jai Bhavani Vadapav’. Jai Bhavani Vadapav specializes in ‘vada pav’, complemented by other dishes like ‘dal makhani’ and ‘chhole bhature’ in their mini-lunch combo. Modern cafes with good seating arrangements and restaurant-style menus have been introduced to enhance the dining experience in the food joints of the group.

Starting from Ahmedabad, Kishan embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by selling vada pav from a simple food cart, which he ran for five years. Naming his venture 'Jai Bhavani,' he realized the popularity of vada pav at that time. In 2004, buoyed by a growing customer base, he inaugurated his first shop. As the market value of his brand soared, he expanded with a second outlet in Ahmedabad. By 2010, he had grown to  establish 11 outlets, a number that continued to rise as he progressed.

Lacking formal management education, he encountered challenges in overseeing multiple outlets. Seeking guidance from professionals, he established a factory and delved deeper into business operations, steadily advancing his enterprise. In 2018, the company had reached a milestone of 101 outlets, with the 101st one opening in Udaipur.

Dreaming of international expansion, he seized an opportunity to open an outlet in Toronto, Canada, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Achieving sales four times higher than expected within six months, he swiftly expanded, launching 16 more outlets across Canada, the USA, and Australia, with plans underway for a UK presence.

Hailing from a village near Haldighati, Rajasthan, Kishan, one of four brothers,  went to Ahmedabad to pursue their joint venture in the food truck business. His formal education extended only to the sixth standard. He learned the art of making vada pav from a fellow villager, whose advice propelled him to start his food truck business.

Drawing inspiration from various individuals throughout his life, including his parents, Kishan credits them for imparting invaluable lessons crucial to his business success.

In his downtime, he finds solace in listening to Marwari and Gujarati music, which rejuvenates him. He also enjoys watching motivational videos.

Acknowledging the numerous challenges he faced, particularly in managing employees and sustaining his product’s market value, Kishan remains undeterred, maintaining a forward-looking perspective and dedicating himself to business expansion.

For aspiring entrepreneurs, Kishan recommends either establishing their own brand or investing in franchise opportunities to attract customers. He emphasizes the importance of effective business management.

He encourages the youth to pursue entrepreneurship as a means to contributing to the nation.
