Kishan began his teaching journey at the age of 19. He is also a writer who has seven books to his credit. Kishan’s poetry peeks into the issues of society and poses a question for the readers to answer.

Kishan Pranay is a Government Teacher at Mahatma Gandhi Government Senior Secondary School, Kota. He is also fond of literature and writing, which he pursues as a hobby alongside his teaching job.

Kishan was born and brought up in Kota, where he also completed his education. He shares that while he was in the 10th grade, he decided to pursue civil services. However, as his interest in writing grew, Kishan decided to pick a profession with which he could pursue his hobby side by side. He realized that he wouldn’t be able to pursue literature along with his UPSC preparation, so he chose teaching and got into this profession instead.

Pursuing his interest, Kishan did his graduation in English Literature, followed by a degree in Journalism. He is currently pursuing his master’s in Hindi Literature. Kishan further shares that his interest in poetry grew after listening to Kabirdas, whom his grandfather also used to listen to. Inspired by him, Kishan wrote his first poem when he was in the 11th grade and has now published many books.

Some of his works include ‘Bohot Hua Avkash Mere Mann’ and ‘Bargad Mein Bhoot.' Kishan then took a turn towards his native ‘Hadoti’ language, and found that literature has a limited reach in this language. So, he published back-to-back books in Hadoti under the names ‘Tatpurush’ , ‘Panchbhoot’, and ‘Abkhaya ka Rangeeta.’ His latest book goes by the name ‘ Pranay ki Preyasi.’

Sharing his achievements, Kishan says that his book ‘Tatpurush’ was nominated for the Kendriya Sahitya Akademi Award. He has also been honored by several literary organizations.

When asked about his role models, Kishan says he draws inspiration from Rabindranath Tagore, who won India’s first Nobel Prize and was the man behind India’s national anthem. He also feels inspired by Swami Vivekananda and his life journey.
